If I remember correctly, it activates 100% at 70% throttle and recharges when not in use. Doesn't seem like a terribly complicated work around but, without having one right in front of me I'm most likely just talking out my Ass. Good luck to you guys though. Also, I'll be doing something like the phantom only nothing like the phantom (no electric motor). I hope to start fabrication in the next month or so. My end goal is to have a reliable means of boost capable of directly competing with tradition superchargers and turbos for around the same price as the phantom. It would be similar to the phantom in that is going to be a zero lag system but that's about it. Again, not building an electric supercharger or stealing anyone's idea. I believe mine is going to be the first of its kind. So if that sounds interesting, keep your eyes peeled.

Sounds interesting to watch. Let us know when you start the build thread.

turbocharger, only instead of exhaust gasses, you power it with a compressed air tank right ?

I know, it's so crazy it just might work.

Oh No
HELP
My ESC just quit working.
I just put some new E85 into the tank and went for a ride. I noticed that the power was down so I thought maybe a bad batch? But then I noticed the voltage meter stays at 28.7.
So I went home and first I checked the switch by engaging it with key on motor off. Listen for the blower. Nothing.
Next with the motor running I suck on the DR tube and nothing.
All the wiring looks good and the fan on the charger/controller is running.

Anybody have any ideas?
Is there a fuse I can check? I don't remember.
Does anyone know how I can check the switch for continuity?
Please help. It sucks driving around without boost.

Got a question; what's a good/safe volt meter reading? Mines been steadily claiming these pass few days and is now at 29v when fully charged.
It's it something i should worry about? Should I turn the system off to stop charging the batteries when it reach that high?

Will do.
In the meantime is it ok to run the car with the ESC E85 tune?
Or should I load the E85 non ESC tune?
And should I remove the compressor or just leave it in place?
I also have no drag reduction.

29 seems high, but just a tad. PM Rob, he will assist right away.

Another thing to check -- make sure you haven't snagged the black wire that runs through the firewall. If the copper in that wire is exposed, the controller will refuse to start even if the voltmeter is on. I actually had that issue where it never dumped voltage like you're having -- I was a little too aggressive in my routing the first time around and caught it on a corner, which I didn't notice until the wire was rubbed through nearly completely. After repairing the wire myself, I was back up with no problems.

Just another thing to check -- but Rob will help you diagnose it the best. He has been great through a couple of hiccups I've had.

I had these same symptoms once, too. Unlike Raven's faulty controller, my problem was simpler - at the five pin connector that connects the throttle switch to the controller, the black wire had pulled away. Barely noticeable.

Seems like an easy check.

Mine regularly settles in at 28.8 and has occasionally hit 28.9. When I've seen it at 28.9 I always hope for just one more tenth, so I can see 29 lol.

Thanks guys. I'll check both of those things before I bother Rob.
As far as the wire routing goes, when I did the install the harness touched the exhaust manifold and melted. I'll check that first.
Does anybody know if the compressor motor is locked without power or does it spin freely? The reason I ask is because even without the ESC the car runs great. It's just that full throttle is the same as half throttle.
