I Have figured that sub 400whp, manual all the way. Between 4-500 whp, automatic will be the cheapest (and most reliable) option with the SSP upgrades (around $2,000) anymore whp then that and you'll start to have to look at the supra V160 or 154, and comparable tranny swaps for a reliable form of a transmission at that level.

We just finished a customer's car here with a 300whp build on his automatic, and it was a blast. Given the speed it can go up through the gears now, for most people it would be faster than a manual. With the low end torque it now possesses it's very close to perfection.

Im pretty sure the auto 6th gear is like .5 something where the manual is .7 something

Ahh, well personally, I like even gearing.
Technically wouldnt the auto have a theoretical higher top speed from the stock FD?

for those who think manual might be a better option for track use, I'd say think twice
![]() I don't know how many of you pass 127mph on a track day but I think I'd be much happy with the auto gearing.. I've put them side by side with the speeds on each gear (the one one the left is manual)

its unfortunate since this is a pretty nice drivers car, it gets economy gearing, not sporty gearing :'(
