It will fit, but only if you are stock. As soon as you add camber or lower the car, then it won't anymore (or you'd have to add spacers in the front).

Best to stick with the +35 offset in that wheel, keep an eye on the group buys on this forum.

Edit: example here (note the 3mm spacer required with lowering springs)

Function guys will probably cringe at this, so look away now if you are.

Looking at a set of wheels 18x8.5 +17 / 18x9.5+17 with 205/40, 225/40 tires on them. Dropping just over the legal height in Australia (100mm lowest point).

How much camber would be needed to tuck the top of the wheel (not just the tread, the entire top of the wheel)? Would coilovers be 100% needed? Will I need rear lca's? And can anybody post photos of the ride height, with 100mm minimum clearance? I honestly have not been able to find any photos of our cars dead on that height.

Hey guys,

I'm looking at getting some 18x9.5 +29 with 235/30-35 all round.
BC Racing (BR) coil overs.

Willing to go as low as I need, and as much camber as I need. Just curious. One of the other guys here has the same rims with +40, 255/35 and it looks wicked, but feels a little conservative.

I'm sorrry guys but I could only mostly find quotes about lowered cars but what would the recommended tires for 18x8 + 45 both front/rear for a stock height vehicle? (I would prefer close to flush...but more emphasis on practicality and not rubbing for now)

Those are pretty aggressive offsets.

Not sure we can help you but this crew might (or you can browse that thread for more info):

Looks like you are going for the stretched look? 235/35 will be closer to stock diameter tire. 235/30 is too short (do they even make a 235/30R18?)

Above post may help you as well but you're a bit closer to normal offsets so you could make it work with extra camber. You have more inside clearance with the coilovers, but I'm guess-timating that you'll need at least -3 of camber to make those wheels fit.

You'll gain camber as you lower, so I would say choose the height you want and adjust camber from there.

The ideal tire for an 8" wide wheel is a 225/40R18. Same diameter as stock and will be flush with your wheel (i.e. not stretched or too wide).

You shouldn't rub at stock height at all, but if you start lowering, the high wheel offset will put the rim closer to the strut.
It shouldn't get close enough to rub but if it does, you could just add a front spacer, like 3mm or so.

This will only be needed if you drop it ALOT (2"+), otherwise you will be fine either stock or lowered 1-1.5".

You'll need to be at or near the max negative camber the front top hats on the BC coilovers will allow.

You shouldn't have to make camber adjustments in the rear. Very very little if any, but I don't think it'll be necessary.

You'll need to roll your rear fenders.

Currently on XXR 527s 18x8.75, +35, 235/40. Thinking of switching to XXR 522s 18x9.5, +38. Will the 235s be good on 9.5, or should I switch it up to 245s? Thanks!

I have a deal on two XXR 530 18x8.75 +20. I'm currently on stock height but planning to drop on 1'' springs with stock strut. Can they fit or too much poke ? Would they be better suited at the front or at the rear ?

Hi... newbie here.

I think I've done a fair bit of research, but thought I'd post to double check.

Will this fit?

Stock suspension. 18x8.5-35 front, 18x9.5-42 rear, 245/35-18 all around.

It's a DD, and I never track or race at all. I like the 'meaty' look rather than stretched, and don't really want to lower it, as there are a fair amount of potholes/curbs on my regular route. I also would prefer a fair amount of sidewall in the interest of ride comfort.

Do you think I could use the same set up with 245/40's instead?

Hi guys ,

My GT86 is currently stock but next month I'm going to get her a new set of wheels - Enkei RPF1 ( 18x9.5 ET38 ) + H&R lowering springs ( 25mm all-around )

Which tire setup should I choose: 245/35/18 square setup or 235/35/18 in the front and 255/35/18 in the rear ?

Yes , it's my daily driver but that doesn't matter , as I'm interested in the best street performance tire setup.I'm a fan of staggered setups on RWD cars ( loved the one I had on my previous BMW E90 ) but as far as I've read it doesn't quite benefit the GT86.
All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance !

hello. ill be needing new tires soon and want to go wider tires if possible this is my set up right now

swift spring 1inch drop, alignment to stock spec
18×8.5 +33 and 18×9.5 +40
225/40/18 and 255/35/18

the front wheel pokes out a little from the tire and the rear does too but less, i would rather have the tire flush with the wheel if possible

thanks!
