man, you would be surprised how the things can really change at track

and I can talk about a C5 Z06 all day , easier solution? yes
desirable solution? not for everyone if you ask me

Careful that block is all you need to burn down a whole city right there.

Sir with all your respect with only 10% down on MPGs that's clearly why you didn't see heating issues with your turbo BRZ.
I could easily over heat mine bone stoke on the back roads in 20 to 30 minutes, oil temp 250-290f, coolant would stay below 225f but could hear detonation. After seen that ( and that was mine fist FRS, it die young ) I have no intention to go to the track until I could warranty no heating issues...
For the record my MPGs are low, stoke 19 MPGs with FI 14 MPGs, but when my wife or mom get in the car MPGs sky rocket to 25-30. AFR 12.5 to 13 at WOT, 14 to 14.5 at partial throttle.

So a couple of weeks ago I did track my setup for 35 minutes, MPGs then get really low 10 MPGs and temps under the hood where better that expected, max engine oil temp 225f, coolant 215f, sc oil 195f.
I'm sure that it could also be done with a turbo setup, but take in consideration that I'm running an unorthodox custom made oil cooler setup ( 2 oil coolers for the engine 7.5 qts of oil and one smaller and separate for the sc )
NOTE that I live in the tropic and mine setup isn't for every one! It will only work for the heavy right foot people on hot climate.

So you drive like a reckless teenager on the streets, and you think that should be the standard for MPG?

FWIW, I average over 30 MPG in my car as well (turbo'd). And it's not like I don't have fun in it- I just don't drive like an asshole everywhere I go.

No!!!!
I'm lucky at the time I'm on the road there is almost no one and I can accelerate the car at it max almost every time... But this car isn't fast even with the FI... Is better.
Allways playing with the VIDI. On 0-60
So max speed 65
On the back roads 25-30 mph is fun, but wet at 10-15mph fun fun fun! With OEM tires and suspension.
Most off the time on the highway smalls accelerations15-60 also fun!
Never race on public roads!

I would go turbo. With turbo you hit max boost in lower rpm. With supercharger you have to wait till you reach redline.

I went with a Kraftwerks supercharger because I wanted to be different. I've always had turbo everything. (Celica, MR2, Evo) The coolest turbo kit I've seen is the STS turbo.

http://www.phasteksport.com/2013-Sci...-brz-turbo.htm

Since its rear mounted you get cooler engine temps like you would get with a supercharger but with better weight distribution.

You don't want to list the downsides of a rear mount turbo? @Cross has a prototype STS setup on his.

What are you even buying when you get the STS setup? $7,000 with a tune an intercooler. And that's without the options.

I found this thread very enjoyable . I've been researching turbo kits for my stock 2014 manual gt86 and I believe I've decided on jdlautodesign going to go with the bigger turbo and the UEL option. Any downsides here?? Air conditioning?
