Why is nobody making catted UEL headers except ft86speedfactory?

The answers are very simple.
A catted aftermarket header is just as illegal for carb as no cat at all.
A catted header is more expensive to manufacture and can't be ceramic coated on the inside
A Catted header is generally believed to produce less performance gains.

All of these reasons are powerful disincentives to develop and produce catted aftermarket headers.

Well clearly the HUGE wait time for the FT86 Speed Factory should show that there is a consumer interest out there...

I will not pretend to be an expert at header development, however, my technical background has shown me that there are a number of ways to approach header design. JDL, Borla, Nameless, HKS, and FT-86SpeedFactory have all produced headers of different forms, producing different numbers and sounds.

At the end of the day a customer has to look at a company's customer service reputation, quality, design, performance and plug-n-play capability. I knew I wanted a catted header to pass visual inspection (the rest is more a wave of the hand if you know the right people...). I also chose UEL since I felt it better fit the platform, sound, and general upgrade path I have planned (no forced induction).

FT-86SpeedFactory has created a header that can work bolted on, with or without a tune. So for those looking to take one step at a time, it is ideal (tune later).

So you ran lean and melted it or to rich and burned it up...........I wonder where the fault is at, the header or lack of / bad tune?

My Catted header works just fine, but it is an equal length header as I want performance over sound.

Not trying to sound like an ass here but this sentence doesn't make much sense. I get the decision for a EL header but if you wanted top end power that bad you would have gone uncatted for best results. Also UEL's have proven time and time again to make a ton of power especially JDL's UEL. it makes more peak power than many EL headers and being uncatted will probably perform just as well if not better than your catted EL.

JDL UEL on stock car + panel filter made ~188hp
HKS EL with full exhaust made ~195hp

If your going supercharger, Don't even worry about a header. Its a waste of money. Stick with stock. I rather dump money into a flex flue kit (if you have E85) which will net you way more power then a header.

let's review 1 it is illegal to replace a catalytic converter unless it is defective that is federal law. 2 switching out to a header with a catalytic converter does nothing for power. so therefore 3 you're wasting your money go catless or don't go at all.

It is most certainly not a waste of money. If I did any type of FI, the first thing I would change is the header.

Well then you have looked at many dyno's have you The headers do not add much on the supercharger side. Like I said Flex Fuel would be a much wiser choice
