Hahha i lost count on how much spent on 86 alrdy....

I don't have the final bill yet (since the car is still in the shop), but the quoted price was $1500 + $200 for powder coating of the roll bar. Yes it is more expensive than an auto power solution but this way I will have a real welded in bar that I know is built and installed right. After seeing some pictures online of how roll protection can punch through the floor pan when not installed correctly, I came to the conclusion that this is probably the single most important upgrade to the car. I don't have the experience to tell if a plate is in the correct place to really distribute the force of a rollover into the strong parts of the car's chassis or to even really be sure that welds are of top quality. Because of this I went with what seems to be the most professional option available.

It doesn't take much math to realize that my good health is worth a hell of alot more than the cost of the safety gear.

You mean you didn't go with a bolt-in Cusco showcage? But it's blue!

Good chance I will attend that event. The main caveat is that I'm doing track stuff on the 19th-22nd (HPDE + lemons open test + lemons race for two days) so I might want to take that weekend off to rest some.

And they have all kinds of bars around your head with lots of bends so they look cool and you don't forget they are there (especially once your head has a big dent in it from smacking them)!

Seriously though, crinkle black powder coat FTW.

I agree, Cusco's cage is worthless as a cage. Dangerous, even.

With a custom-made, weld-in cage, how do they powdercoat it once it's in the vehicle?

They are building it in two pieces and then sending that off to be powder coated. The two pieces will then be bolted together. It should look like a cross between this: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...e=3&permPage=1

and this: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...5983229&type=3

Thanks, I've wondered how that gets done before. I didn't think they would put the entire car in an oven to cure the powdercoat.

Also, do both of those come with camber plates? I don't think I see an option for them on the raceseng plates.
I'd post, but RCE already handled it

We can get you RaceSeng CasCam plates for them; it's just a matter of sending them the right measurements. The particular combo hasn't been requested, yet, as everyone we've sold JRZ to buys a complete setup, not just the dampers.
