But there are 3 sizes between 225 and 255

I am basically torn between 235 and 245 on 18x9 et 25 or 35.
et 25 will need rear camber, et35 wont.
et 25 should give me more lock.

Decisions decisions...

WHAT TO DOOOO. haha

Its the corner of the tyre that governs your lock.

A 245 is 20mm wider than a 225. so a 245 on a +25 will have the same inner foul point as a 225 on a +35 (ignoring profile, which makes the 245 worse)

If you are worried about lock, then tyre width is important; and the last thing you want to do is run a tyre wider than you need to.

Even your comments re offset and camber, its the same thing. It depends on the tyre size as well.

I should probably add that I despise the notion of using camber to fit wheels and tyres. Camber is there to provide grip while the car experiences roll. Using camber for anything other than that is a fail IMO.

Well, seeing how you are one of 5 actual drifters on this board, maybe you are right. LOL

Are you positive 225s stretched on a 9" wheel don't suck for turn in response and lateral grip?
The last thing I want is to run stretched just because it's JDM tyte yo, without a proper reason...

So if you were to buy wheels again. Would you do 25 or 35 et, considering that this is a drift car with Megan rack ends?

18x9 + 35 and a 225/40 is the best compromise for looks, inner and outer clearance, and grip. Seriously, you dont need any more tyre than that, and all its going to do is limiit your lock.

I actually think the 225 is too wide, Lol.

Im looking at step down to 16x8.5 +13, with a 205/45/16 tyre. I use 205's on the front for drifting and they're plenty grippy. Note the tyre, narrow, and not very tall. That means more lock before fouling. And the outside corner point just dips in similar to the meaty tyre thread max fitment which is 265/35/18 on a 9.5 + 38. Here, this might make it more obvious what I'm doing. See, it'll look stanced out, but check out the inner clearance and inner tyre corner (fouling) point. Also its way shorterso more lock before it fouls internally, and it'll also be much further from the inner fender, even with much more castor.

This dude here has a very similar setup to what I want to do. The front looks sick IMO, and gives maximum consideration to lock.

I dont like the rear on this pic, think its one step too far. I'l run 16x8.5 +13 all round. This pic has an even more aggressive rear fitment.

But the 16's make the car uber low. Which is the compromise I'll be making from the 18" setup I'm recommended (and running currently) above. (225/40/18)

225 to 255 will work. You won't have much clearance issue with the right setup.
@diss7 has a good setup and works very well too. It's all about what you want. 245 would "look" good on it. If you want the herrafrush setup, then you'll probably run a 205.

He will, as he's running new tie rods that give the car more lock.

My 225's rub on the swaybar, but still give decent lock up until that point. 235's will rub sooner, so less lock. Ditto 245, ditoo 255.

But see, as a drifter you have to factor another thing in, tyre size/cost. 205/45/16 there are a few cheap tyres in that size. 215/40/16 is an expensive size.

The difference between paing $80 a tyre and $200 a tyre adds up quick!
