Roval or Infield?

I'm interested in T-Hill, but I don't want to go when it's like 130ºF. I really don't feel like getting destroyed in the heat. 115ºF is already hot enough...

As I understand it we will be doing one of the highbanks and then into the infield section and then back out onto the roval. I think this is the common configuration for HPDE, right?

I haven't been doing this for long enough to know how bad T-hill gets, but last time I was there is was about as perfect of weather as you could ask for (it was a week and a half ago and temperatures were low 80s with mixed overcast).

Damn. T-Hill in the 80s would be awesome. Too bad it's like 600 miles away...well...time to pack up and go up I guess.

The HOD setup sounds like the Roval. You're going to notice how ridiculously stable the 86 platform is on the Roval. You can change lines at 130mph without any stability issues. This is also the place where you will understand why the "adding stability" statement from people wanting to build "track setups" makes us chuckle.

Anyone have a line on an HDPE around Las Vegas? All I'm finding is a local PCA group.

There's an event this weekend with SV. You can meet some of the S2k Challenge guys. Unfortunately I already have some meetings to attend this weekend or else I'd be there.

July 12 & 13 – Willow Springs (crossover points event with NASA So Cal)

I'm not ready to get on the track quite yet, but it'll be nice to develop contacts for when I am ready. Do you have a site or link I could dig through? Thanks David.

I think you'll want B8 shocks rather than the B6. The B8 shocks are meant for lowering springs. B6 shocks are meant for OEM springs.

Yeah, I do have to admit that it was abnormally awesome weather when I was there (it was hotter the time before when I was there).

When you do come up, I think the very best would be one of the five mile events. I got the opportunity to walk the new stuff last time and it is freaking awesome. It is a little hard to say without seeing the pavement and final berm configuration, but it looks like the new stuff will have some fantastically challenging features. That said, there are a couple of places that I suspect will have plenty of high beginner/low intermediate drivers and their cars as snacks, but time will tell. I'd love to point to turn numbers but I can't find a new map and I don't know the numbers.

As far as car stability, the first time I went over turn 1 at Laguna Seca I realized right away that the BRZ is special. Previously I had a 2013 Civic Si and that turn was scary on the crest while the BRZ just feels planted.

When you had the seals fail do you think it was just the ambient temperature pushed things too hot? If that is the plausible cause do you suspect and oil cooler would have helped prevent it?

That said, I do want to avoid the depths of the diminishing returns curve.

So far from what I have see I think I will need to replace the lower control arms on the rear and get some camber plates on the front. Looking at CSG's site I see alot of options but frankly I am still in the early stages of planning out this round of upgrades so I don't understand alot of the trade offs there.

So the question becomes, what pieces do I realistically need to be upgrading/replacing and what attributes should I focus on? I am having alot of trouble telling which parts are meant to do great things on the track and which are meant for stanced cars?
How many track days have you done?

What kind and what size tires do you run?

Skip B8's. Revalved B6 would be a better way to go.
