Quiet sway bars
Can anyone recommend a front and rear sway bar combo that is SILENT?
I rolled the dice on a set of Hotchkis sway bars and they clunk like crazy. It's both the front and rear, and I've tried a few different endlinks. Tightening the links quietens them down a bit, but not for long. They usually stay quiet for a couple of days then go back to making noise. I've tried loctite and lock washers, but they keep backing off a very slight amount. I'm thinking the bolt holes on the bars themselves are slightly larger than the endlink bolt diameter. Anyways, can anyone recommend a front and rear sway bar set that is dead silent? I just can't take the clickiing/clunk noises anymore. I'm thinking Perrin

a swaybar by itself cannot clunk, it has no moving parts
if it is clunking, there is metal on metal contact due to binding and improper articulation

Are your bushings nice and lubed up? Wrapping the bar in teflon tape at the bushings helps as well.

Otherwise, you're just binding/preloading the links and they'll always become "loose" after you start driving the car. -alex |

Are you sure you aren't getting any knocking from the swaybar to lower control arms? At a 1.5" drop and stock end links I would bet that's a strong possibility.

That was my thought when I was hearing the clunking, I am lowered about 1.5 with oe endlinks too. No contact, just slightly loose top nuts. It is easier to check them first.

The stock end links are too long. I went to whitelines , same knock. Got the oems shortened 50mm, same knock
It's fine at first but then the bolts back off a bit and it comes back. I'm pretty sure the bolt hole on the bar is slightly too large and it moves around Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
