In fact, I have noticed zero difference in terms of warmup between the Cusco cooler installed, and a completely stock engine. Stagnant feed is not a problem if it doesn't hinder or otherwise interfere/change the time it takes to warm up the oil. -alex |

my cusco cooler kept my oil at 250 or less on the track, and most of the time it was a good bit under that, pretty happy with it. unless this core is a different size, should be very similar performance. the only reason i went with cusco is there was one on sale for like 400 dollars here, so it just made sense.

Took 6 months, but finally have proof the oil cooler does something:
[ame]http://youtu.be/VnGKGTCsca8[/ame] Ran the same road 6 month ago without the oil cooler and again today. Both times temps were in the low 70's. I've done a bit to the car since then, but nothing in terms of power. With the tires I have now, I could actually push the car A LOT harder and I even ran it with the A/C on just to make sure I was running the car as hard as possible. Might be hard to see the video, but the Oil temps are now running 15-20 degrees cooler. At some points the car was running 260 degrees or higher before, now they never exceed 245ed degrees. Thats a HUGE improvement IMO! |

^^ these are taken with OEM radiator, correct?
I've taken my logs with stock radiator at track events this weekend (OEM oil cooler received but not installed yet) and seen the temps rose up to 266 degrees!! Hopefully, the oem oil cooler help reducing those temps down

Stock radiator yes. Only other engine mods are the TRD intake and TRD catback and were used in both vids.

Just a side note if you are running these solutions and have tuning, lower the fan activation point from 212F down to 200F. It will drop your oil temps aroun 10 extra degrees. If you don't, running the AC will activate those fans and will keep coolant temps/oil temps lower.

Yes through pro version or any tuner can set it to that by request.

Finished up my install tonight that I started Sunday. Was a bit more of a PIA than I had hoped for. Just one of those days (Sunday) where nothing went smoothly.
Main problem was I ended up with a piece of 1/2 hydraulic hose instead of heater hose. (co-worker gave me a piece) No wonder it wouldn't fit over the new vertical pipe. ![]() Anyway everything went smoothly tonight. Wanted to point out a coupe things. First the new 1/2 hose coming out of the head sits very close to the header. I decided to put some heat sleeve over it to make sure it doesn't get too hot. I ended up using the rest on the 3/8 line as a barrier for the shield next to the cooler and the frame rail. ![]() Secondly, I didn't like how the heater hose on the rear fit up to the new pipe (as has been stated). I decided to try and bend it up to gain some clearance. I found a socket that fit inside the new pipe, then I clamped that in the vice. I then used my body weight to push against the new pipe. I was able to bend (straighten) it a fair amount before the pipe started doing funny things. This then allowed the hose to fit just right without kinking (as shown) ![]() Anyway thanks everyone for this thread. (Im going to MID-O) in a month so we'll see how this thing works.

so i ordered from Heuberger Subaru's Online Parts. i dont trust sites that dont accept paypal but its the only decent priced way to get them. funny to see my credit card info was stolen a week after the purchase and caught in Oklahoma before any expensive purchases were made. this is a card that is only used on paypal no place else...

I just ordered from Subaru online parts because I wanted the BRZ trunk liner for my FRS as well. I think their prices are comparable (no tax to CA, but $20 ground ship). Another forum member confirmed fitment with the Kraftwerks supercharger kit so I'm going to try to do the same. Going to use the "T" splitter variant of the install instructions. Hopefully I can install by just removing the idler pulley instead of the entire KW S/C plate.
