also, people who want to do maf scaling you should read mad_sb's and jamesm's posts on maf scaling. my understanding, unless i got it wrong (please correct me), is that due to our cars having di and pi ideally scaling should be done for each individually (disabling the pi/di) and then for combined.

It's not necessary, but IMO it's worth checking that they are not far off. There are areas of the MAF scale where both DI and PI are in use. The ECU does not differentiate when applying trims so if the PI is giving a +2% error but the DI is giving -1% the STFT will fluctuate, as will the LTFT depending on how much of each is in use. Obviously this will have an impact on MAF scaling.

Thanks for the explanation of the smoothing, it's not explained as well in the useage tab. The fact that the MAF scale doesn't appear unless you click on the tab is misleading IMO, the scale should be there in all views. Maybe a button to open the scale in a separate window?

Also, in Usage tab I believe I describe how the 'Smoothing' view works. The curve you see in the 'Smoothing' view is NOT a MAF curve, it's the smoothing slope curve. To see the smoothed curve (after you have applied let's say default 3 degree) you need to tick off 'smoothing' checkbox which will bring you back to results view and tick on 'corrected' and 'smoothed' checkboxes - then you will see raw corrected maf curve vs smoothed maf curve.

I did read the usage tab. Not sure were to find airboy's spreadsheet. When I go to load the logs, it give me invalid column error messages. Not sure how to make it work with my OFT logs even though it does recognize that it's a procede data log.

fixed it! i copied javaw.exe out of the java install folder and pasted it in the mafscale folder and it works.

You could've simply added that bin folder where you found it to the PATH.

If you added to the user's path then it should pick it up right away, if to the system path then it'll be available after restart. Another way you could specify full path in run.bat (maybe both would be required, javax and jar file)

I believe that @vgi is about to release a real usable version of the tool above. I've been testing the crap out of it and I love it!! Still pushing for some new features but there's only so much one man can do at a time Thanks mate for putting this together.


For the moment, I'll add on my latest tool here. This is a simple MAF re-scale tool to give better resolution:

Put in your own MAF table and enter a maximum MAF voltage (I'd keep to 0.1/0.15v above your max MAFv at max RPM) and it will reduce the scale but keeps the curve scaling the same.


It has 2 tabs, one for ECUtek and one for RomRaider. This is hopefully going to be worked into the Java tool shortly.


Now just need a knock learn screen

Still Trying to figure out the smoothing function and graph. What's up with all the squiggly lines? Also, It would be nice to be able to make changes to the scale without having to go into the smoothing mode with the squiggly lines.
