Just judging based on this thread alone, the intake is hit or miss. Not every car responds the same way with the same parts and stock tune when swapping to this intake. I guess that's a chance you have to take, but I like to see some consistency in the intake confirmed by multiple people before it goes on my car. A lot of people got suckered in to the Injen intake when someone did an open hood dyno and it showed a 12 whp gain. Needless to say, no one replicated those numbers with a hood shut and no cold fans blowing directly on it.

It looks like you nailed this one right on the head.

Once the box arrives I'm 99% sure I won't be able to resist throwing it on my BRZ. I will post back here with feedback and hopefully you won't be saying atoldaso.

You shouldn't have made this thread lol. Instead a better strategy would have been to sell it through classifieds or cragislist or whatever but that now seems like a missed opportunity. Return it and good luck.... I only say that because you seem timid and it doesn't feel right to you

I just installed mine 2 days ago and haven't had an issue yet but well see after i put on more miles and weeks later. I think part of the reason the intake is a hit or a miss is also due in part to the model year. Didn't the earlier FR-S/BRZ models had ecu issues or recalls or something? Usually first year models have issues of that sort of thing and it takes a 2nd or 3rd model year to fix all the lil glitches and kinks.

Wasn't the Injen intake producing the most hp gains?
What's everyone leaning towards to now?

I've had it on for about 80-90 miles. No issues yet!

Seems to have a bit more pull in the high top end, and the sound is awesome combined with my nameless Axel back.

Yes it did by doing an open hood dyno allowing increased air flow as well as falsing afr readings like k&n did due to maf tune diameter and placement. Look at the afr plot in the dyno compared to others. The lean reading is what produces the power. I haven't tested my self but I suspect within a few drive cycles the fuel trims should settle dropping all gains off. And in some cases losing power due to the maf turbulence at low voltage. Your fuel trims get out of whack pretty bad. I haven't seen anyone do a real dyno tuned test of this intake to prove it makes any power. Or noticed anyone dyno, install, dyno, drive for a few days and redyno. It's mostly pretty and sounds cool, with a side of non reputable "proven" gains.

I wouldn't waste $400. That's a good chunk of change.
