Injen intake...

Mine should be arriving any day.

Impulse bought it without much research;I did remember seeing some good dynos 6 months ago. It looks like a lot of people are having issues now though.

I have two options:

Return it unopened to rallysportdirect and get raped on shipping/duty. Probably lose 50-100 bucks.

Or

Try it out. Maybe it works maybe it doesn't. Potentially sell if it doesn't work properly for 200 or so. I paid 400.

Hmmmm. Anyone have any positive feedback? I expect lots of negative!

Mine worked just fine for 8k before i got a tune and worked fine for 17k after that. Never stalled out or anything and with my dyno tune it seemed to give a nice lil boost, however, i did upgrade my header/overpipe at the same time so it is hard for me to comment on the performance difference.

i had very little issues with mine just a slight rpm dip when i came to a stop but i never stalled out i was happy with it for about 8k miles.. then i went turbo lol

I just ordered mine mainly cuz its one of the few intakes on the market for the car that actually shows a dyno sheet estimated hp/tq claim. most of the others just says adds or makes more power but no specific number or dyno sheet etc etc

Boofneenee 04-15-2014 10:41 PM

return it.

I got one and it was nothing but headaches. got a full refund. Just read up on CAI's. They do more harm than good most of the time. not worth the money

Brahsbrah 04-15-2014 11:05 PM

Interesting.

I have nameless headers on the way soon... And being in the middle of nowhere not sure if I'll tune or not.

Read some horror stories about tunes and not sure if I want to etune or not.

Had one on my FR-S for 20k miles with absolutely zero issues with a Perrin Headerback exhaust. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again if I weren't going FI..

Flako 04-15-2014 11:16 PM

20k on mine and still loving it, growls nicely lol

You could always just not open it and sell it as new in order to save the loss on shipping.

Of course, you'd have to find a buyer willing to pay what you want...

Mike86 04-15-2014 11:59 PM

Only makes power buy screwing with your afr as soon as you get it tuned with good afr the gains are minimal!! Had it for 2 weeks and nothing but problems stalling out chek engine lights and higher intake temps! 400$ for a screwed up lean afr and hot air intake dnt think so! It did have a nice sound but thats about it.

Just my 2 cents

You paid 400 CAD? That's about 360 USD... too much in my opinion.

If you don't want to install, I'd return it. That'll save yourself more money than selling it. A lot of people will want between 200-250 for these nowadays.

Keep in mind that includes shipping to Canada which is pretty exspensive as well.

I almost feel like the ~$100 loss to ship it back, etc I might as well throw it on and see how it works.

Never had an issue with mine, almost a year on and untuned.

sklimo 04-16-2014 02:17 PM

I never had any problems with mine. Ran it for about 5K before going FI. Sold it and new ownwer has no issues either
