I did the same looking around as the OP. I bought an FR-S. A fun to drive car beats a fast muscle car in every way for me.
Better mileage and more fun to drive. I bought this to commute in. My commute is back roads, so I bought the MT. I've owned three subarus in the past, all grocery getter wagon types. I'm loyal to the brand. But I just didn't like the nose and wing on the Subaru, or the fog lights and grill. I knew they were the same car, I just liked the FR-S just a bit more. If there were no FR-S model, I'd own a BRZ now. My commute is only 22 miles per day each way, but when you compare the FR-S to a modern muscle car, the mileage difference adds up fast. |

You simply did something wrong in your calculations or you don't know what driving pedal to the floor all the time means or you don't drive as fast as you think you do all the time. Just impossible dude. You would never be able to repeat your claim with a third party witness. Your claim is so ridiculous compared to any hypermilers it's not even remotely deserving of comparison. Personally I have pics of hypermiling and getting 39mpg over 600 miles as proof and the actual physics and engineering from this universe allows for my claim to be possible and others have similar numbers too. So it's scientifically logical and repeatable. Your numbers are simply not possible. These guys are not driving as hard as they can 98% of the time like you so why are their numbers worse than yours in just normal driving? You strapped a magic magnet to your fuel lines? Or perhaps you weren't actually pushing it that hard 98% of the time through 3 tanks of gas. http://www.edmunds.com/scion/fr-s/20...-test/mpg.html Their worst fill came out to 16.9 mpg NA which you'd assume had some heavy throttle application. So yes, I'm calling BS on your post about 25.5mpg. Last edited by Boxer486; 04-11-2014 at 03:33 AM. |

Some of you guys are straight ****heads lol. You should give people a chance before you assume they're trolling and stuff like that, you give this forum a bad rep to newcomers. This isn't a BMW forum you don't need to be all stuck up.

I member you... couple years back you were trying to sell a 86 Vette for VR4 right? You had a grand national too I think. Ya, welcome to light cars lol.
A girl that I used to work with upgraded from a white tC to a white FR-S. She got the auto and loves it. She said my black one made her car look fat though. Funny stuff. But seriously, why does everyone argue about random stuff that doesn't really matter. These cars get good gas mileage.... MOVE ON.

I used to be a lawyer. I now teach math and physics. Guess where all my money goes..hah. I'm still trying to sell my Vette! ![]() Still love VR4s. I'm banned from projects. I'm looking to sell everything except for the Priuses and Challenger. The husband wants the Porsche and he has a '72 Roadrunner that stays. It's funny. He literally told me, "I don't care if you buy another motorcycle, but no more cars!!!!" So, I'm looking to downsize on the cars so I can get something different and compromise here. |

I'll agree with that. These cars are a blast in the snow. Nothing like slow-mo drifting lol.

i'm coming from a 944 with m/t. this car is what i always hoped the 944 could be (w/o throwing tons of money at it) and i don't have to work on it every 4 months. so i get where you're coming from. honestly, the car is much quicker than i expected, but again coming from a 150hp i guess i shouldn't have been so surprised. i use this as my dd, so i'm giddy as a schoolboy over the mpg. i drive 25 miles one way w/exactly half hwy/city and avg just over 31 mpg. i mostly drive economically (like a granny) w/occ bouts of wot (at least once or twice a day). the clutch has certainly taken some getting used to, but gets better everyday. for the money, either of the twins is a winner. i'd research a little more on the service end of the deal--as in, is toyota or subaru doing a better job of keeping their customers happy when it comes time for repairs/recalls/tsb's.

and a side note, new Camaro 1LE even with the added weight is a great performer at the track and the best value IMO..Camaro Z28 can keep up with the new GTR and the new GT3 http://www.autoweek.com/article/2014...news/140329817 [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqkyWhVBSKU"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqkyWhVBSKU[/ame] these newer muscle cars made by GM are no joke ![]() I knew that I was going to FI route before even I purchased this car, and ordered my parts at the same time.. hopefully the Kraftwerks SC kit will answer all my needs.. Enjoy the FRS

The brz is more planted, but still similar to the fr-s. On phone I am. Therefore, if mistakes I make, Frank Oz blame you should.
