Yeah discussions are good, but its like the blind leading the blind if you guys didn't sell them before and assume.

And yes markups are everywhere else, Prius was going $6k over sticker cuz of the demand when it came out. Doesn't mean you had to pay, you could've waited on a list and got it for sticker price back then.

But that is why Toyota came out with Scion in the first place.

I'm just trying to give him the heads up. You dont need to take that behavior from them.

Report them to Toyota corp you think they are doing something shady or unethical. And if you really want the car from that dealer, call back again and ask to talk to someone in the Fleet or Internet Dept. who will give you a lot more time and attention and courtesy.

No Dadhawk/Tranzformer are wrong. If they advertise a higher price it is because it already has installed accessories from the factory or they plan to dealer install options which they need to disclose. They can't add to the price just because of market supply or demand.

You can order it and add the options you want.

Many dealers will have aftermarket accessories on the car already for the cars on the dealer lot when this car comes out. So people will be forced to buy it with aftermarket rim, nav, alarm, lojack, if they don't want to wait or hunt for one in their area.

Perhaps I'm reading it too literally but the language is very consistent in its use of the singular version of dealer. There is no mention of consistency of price between dealers or with prices published by the corporation.

I'd be very happy to be proven wrong and I would never pay above MSRP regardless.

Since you worked for Scion then you obviously have way more info than I do from reading a couple of webpages. Thanks for the direct info.

Would anyone like to share what they expect to pay monthly if they finance this car? You can use this or similar. http://autos.yahoo.com/car-finance/m...alculator.html I'd just like an idea...

That tool is great, I've used it often.

Monthly payment and length of term is all subjective and depends what you're comfortable at. If you get a bone basic FRS stick, just floormats, add destination, it should be about $25,114 (estimated $184 for floor mats from TC)

If you want go 110% financing nothing from your pocket if your credit allows (with excellent credit from yahoo 4.41%) that should be about $434/mo for 72 months with CA sales tax
(need to add in dmv fees etc still)

I would down $5k so you aren't financing tax, do 72 months, and get the minimum monthly payment to $355/mo and pay it off early.

The don't say it word for word but that is what it infers, they got the idea from Saturn when they were still out.

So haggling and shopping dealer to dealer prices are eliminated.
(But looking through inventory or waiting for your custom car to be built is not.)
Vs Toyota's model that is traditional, haggle with the dealer to try to get close or below invoice.

(I sold for Toyota and Scion) You can report them to toyota coroprate if they do otherwise and they get a strike and more training. Each employee needs to be scion certified with each model to be able to sell it.
Thanks, that's what I had hoped it would be; given the discussed dealership however, it was not even established that $1200 was due to any added accessories.....just that due to the rarity of the vehicle they would be marking it up $1200 over the established MSRP.

If it's something to report....give me a link

+1. Maybe Scion should use a motto like:

"Scion. The Android of Cars"

I think it's either to charge the battery or so you don't misplace the key when in the car.

Hm, for those that are sticking it out and getting an FR-S; maybe a thread should be made similar to the BRZ pre-order database.

good? bad?
