Toyota FT-86 Price Poll

What do you think (not hope ), I have heard such a range!

Let's focus on the starting, base price (MSRP).

Hopefully the "wisdom of crowds" will act as an reasonably accurate prediction-market for us.

This should be complimentary to JDMinc's "Toyota FT-86 weight -- take your guesses" Poll.

Yes I realize the poll has 2 minor mistakes (last 3 categories don't have the 1 at the end of the first figure, and the last 2 categories should be $32K-$35K, > $35K) I don't see where I can edit the poll now, but I don't think it will affect the outcome of the polling. Eventually I'll have the result of our general predictions via poll farther down in the thread.

I think Toyota will be true to their currently stated plan, and it will start at/around 21-22 large.

Yeah, but I'm more interested in pricing for the supposed "higher power version", as that is the one I'll more than likely be looking at getting.

Yea I hear you S2K, but the quotes you have around high power are the reason why I made the poll for the base version. We can be sure that the base version will come, but not on the specificity or existance of the high power version (but I hope it comes! it prob will!). & for consistency, let's make it the MSRP we are predicting.

That wouldn't be too bad I suppose. The Genesis Coupe I built, 2.0 Turbo Track, was around that I believe. Here's what it came out to be. http://www.hyundaiusa.com/shoppingto...o/preview.aspx

No worries man. My vote was 20,001-23k MSRP for the base version.

Same. Can't see a base version of this car starting above 23k. That would be

I actually hope the price doesnt reflect the options and the quality of the FT. I would like to be able to get a decent stereo, moonroof, stability control and power options if they are available. Making the car too cheap might also reflect the quality of the car. I wouldnt want Toyota to cut corners with things like the interior plastics, paint quality and lack of options to keep the car cheap.

Would really like to see it start in the teens, but low 20s is probably the best we'll get.

As much as I would like to see it at 20-23k i don't see that happening. It's closest competitors Genesis coupe and miata are in the 23-26k range and that's where the Celica (FT-86) will probably be.
