Just went out to get me some Motul 300 today. Looking to change the fluid this weekend. I'm at 24000kms on the original fill. I feel kind of bad that I'm only getting around to it now. But the car sees only highway use and I haven't taken it lapping yet so all should be good.
Gonna run Redline 75w90 in the diff. I wanted to do all Motul but the shop only had two bottles of Motul left so I just grabbed a bottle of Redline for the rear.

Not as cold as where you are...but cold weather being 60F below which is mild to you...but having to wait for over 5 minutes to warm up the car and then drive another 15 to 30 minutes to have the tranny drive right is not correct for me. I suspect that the wrong oil was chosen by Subaru and so a lot of people have to deal with it. Pentosin has a 40C viscosity of 38.3...where as MTL has 54.1. A lot of metal to metal action happens because the oil doesn't get thin enough until temps are reached. I don't know what the viscosity for the stock tranny is.

Quickie Q:
How many quarts/liters to flush the trans? ..and diff? And, also would like to know the frequency/time between flushes? ..recommended frequency for both a DD car, and also an occasional track car? (I am guessing it isn't as frequent as brake fluid flushes) Want to go Motul
