Help covering front bumper license plate holes

Well as I found out later, the moustache on the BRZ is a part of the whole bumper, and can't be removed or changed separately. The bumper and the moustache is all one piece.

As far as the filling the holes and wrapping it goes, it will definitely work. Someone on here had a WRB BRZ with the moustache wrapped in carbon fibre vinyl and it looked pretty good.

I'm thinking of filling it in with silicone and then vinyl wrapping it as well.

I am in the same boat, and was thinking the same thing with the vinyl wrap.

I can't believe dealers continue to drill the bumper without at least asking the customer.

In the course of doing business, at least 1 customer has to have had complained to the dealer prompting them to evaluate their drilling policy.

I would look into removing that whole plastic mustache piece, or at least coloring it the same as the body.

I think it's just plain gloss black vinyl but because of the texture of the moustache, it gives it a cool look in my opinion.

I don't think anything was used because that owner didn't have any holes in the bumper. He just wrapped it in vinyl for fun.

Not sure if visible through the picture, but yes those holes are not centred on the bumper

How did you take out the license plate bracket?! I'm having such a hard time. I can't remove the screws. And that is without remove the whole bumper.

Realistically the best/easiest way to get them out is to pull the bumper. If you look earlier in the thread you will see the two rubber nuts that hold the bolt in place. Your two options are to either cut them off or heat them up hot enough to loosen the rubber. The latter option should be done carefully because there is a high risk of melting the plastic on the bumper. You CAN NOT pull the rubber nuts through the bolt's hole without seriously damaging the plastic part so you are essentially SOL unless you pull the bumper. Almost a full year later I still have to look at the four holes because of a failed experience with the S-Craft front nose (See my thread) and I would recommend leaving the plate where it is if the dealer already mounted the bracket. Or if you were lucky enough to only have two holes, get a cover similar to what pretty much every GR WRX/STI has!

you can pull the rubber things out with pliers, use force but they will pop right out

So no way of doing it without pulling the bumper? I am very inexperienced when it comes to pulling the bumper off.

A little update, I went to the dealership to get an oil change and asked them to remove the front plate bracket. They removed it free of charge. I also went to Lowe's and got some plugs for the holes, and it fits perfectly. =)

Trimmed the bumper edges for a smooth fit and snapped right in.
