Front License plate/bumper protector

I know may of you do not require to have a front license plate or prefer the perrin tow hook license plate placement but since I live in state that requires a front license plate to be shown and prefer to have it centered, I was wondering if anyone got anything to protect their front bumper b/c I live in NYC and everyone there 'knows how to parallel park' w/o touching the other cars bumper. I've seen something called Bumpshox, just wanted to see if anyone used it before or have an alternative. thanks

ugh I just looked at the BumpShox site and that thing is ugly. I understand the desire to protect your bumpers from other careless drivers though. Guess I would just never park a nice car on the streets if I lived in NYC. I'd buy a beater for most driving and only take the nice car on drives out to the country.
