I took a second shot of the stock winjet projector light cutoff with 5000k ddm hid kit and my switchbacks covered. I didn't realize how much light scatter the switchbacks showed on the garage door. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1396553720.509812.jpg

The Z's should line up to make 1 Z not 2

also, mine came in today. look great. going to wait to retrofit.

@everyone asking about DDM, I had some horrible experience with them. Had them on my FJ for a while, but had one ballast intermittently not turning on. Always a PITA when you have to keep flipping your lights on and off again to get the light to turn on. RMAd the thing, new ballast, same issues.

I would suggest not cheaping out and going with something from the retrofit source. high quality stuff there.

This seemed like a pretty good walkthrough for how to aim your headlights: http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=464202

As you can see the stock projector doesn't come close to a retrofitted one. These are cheap Q5R replicas or knockoffs, while better then a OEM projector in the cars, and a lot better once they have a hid kit installed in them, they just don't come close to a retrofitted set.. I'll put my retrofitted setup against the shops 10 Series stock HID setup and know mine is better. I have "tuned" my set up and I run 185$ Osram 66240 CBI bulbs.. And Bulbs make a big difference.. Anyone that says a cheap 30$ kit bulb is the same as a quality ORM bulb or even the XB35 bulbs with the handmade German capsules don't know anything.. If your wanting the most out of your lights, then doing a retrofit is the way to go..

Thanks Thomas -

I'm sorry but I can't let bad information like this stay out there.. There should be two "Z" and they should be the same distance apart no matter how far away your car is from what ever they shine on.. So if your headlights are say 5 feet apart, those "Z" or steps should be 5 feet apart at 1 foot from a wall of 100 foot from a wall.. Or 1000 if your lights are good enough to form that cut off..

I agree with the rest of your statement, I used DDM also until I was I formed.. What's saw is if you know where to look you can buy the same kits for less then 20$ and if you buy in enough bulk like they do a couple bucks..

Nope, they should line up much more than his original post does. In his post they are completely separate and from not far away. I was wrong in saying they should be on top of each other, I was thrown off by how his looked I guess I had forgotten what they should actually look like

Should look more like this

vs his

okay maybe I originally underestimated how close his car is to the garage door. It is a bit deceiving.

I've measured center to center of lights, used same distance at 25', per Andrew at TRS

There is a major light output difference in all the Retrofits we have done also - I have watched Thomas "tune them" to get a good crisp light output
@Gixxersixxerman
Are the Winjet LED DRLs as bright as the 10 series or monogram ones?

I see what your saying now.. There still should be two steps, tho in our case the left one should over lap the right one.. And I'm sure his come close once he backs up some, but the winjet projectors don't make that great of cutoffs to begin with.. They do slope down.. I read your statement as both of those steps should become one..
