P0700 -- auto tranny slip?

Just got a code P0700 this morning, no limp mode just the light. I'm getting a bit of a jolt when I let the car coast from 15 to 5mph, and when I go into manual mode there's a significant delay when downshifting into 2nd and 1st.

I've never experienced this before, it sounds like tranny slip from what I've googled. Anyone else had this?

Taking her in for service on Thursday. 16,000 miles and launch-era car, first problem I've had.

Whatever you do, don't do a Bing image search for 'tranny slip'...

DON'T DO IT. Seriously. Just don't.

Let us know. No codes here but my 1-2nd gear relationship has never been great from the very start wondering if there is something I can do.

The 2nd to 1st delay has always been there for me. I don't notice a major jolt, but the car seems to like dropping into first just under 30mph. Is the jolt the automatic shift from 2nd to 1st?

Have you had the car on a dyno? I had a bunch of codes show up because the DTC gets confused when the front wheels are stationary and the rears are spinning.

Not really sure how to describe it better. Downshifts have always been fast and smooth for me. When in auto and coming to a stop, the downshifts were so smooth and at low enough revs that I'd not even notice them.

Now at about 10-11mph when it downshifts the whole car gets an easily felt small shake and it seems to sit without any power for much longer. Bad times.

Butt dyno is the only one I've ever used.

p0700 - automatic transmission malfunction signal - looks like it's just a communication code between tcm and ecm - likely a bad ecm since there's been so many on here replaced.
