Haha I had thought about doing it once just for giggles. The car is surprisingly neutral and rotates on lift easily with the nannies defeated due to all the battery mass being low and in the center of the car. It's a lease though and I wouldn't race a leased vehicle.

John, which ZII's did you go with for the BRZ? 235/40? I have the 235/45s arriving next week (never going 3rd party for wheels/tires again). I'm really interested to compare my mounted 235/45 to a mounted 235/40.

Yep, I went with the 235/40's. I feel like it will probably be the better choice, as it will be faster out of every corner vs. sometimes saving a shift. Even at nationals last year I only had to shift once, and I think it was fast enough that even on 235/45's a shift would have been required. It may be worth a try though, and I can take measurements though if you want once they are mounted.

That'd be great, I'd appreciate it.

I also went with the bigger size not just for the final drive ratio adjustment, but also because the taller sidewall will be less pinched on the 7" wide wheel. According to Dunlop, the acceptable rim width range is 8"-9.5" for the 40 A/R and 7.5-9.0" for the 45 A/R, so the 45 is a little more ideal in comparison as far as the cross section. I'm expecting it to be a little more numb, but hopefully it'll have a little better dynamic contact patch than the more stretched 40 A/R... I'm not real convinced myself, but it's a theory, and I figure someone might as well give it a shot!

And I thought the 225 rivals felt spungy compared to a 215... I cant even imagine a 245.

well we run higher pressures to compensate for the "spungy" feeling.

What did you run on the 225, compared to the 245?

I'm going to keep my 225/45/17 in the front, but run the 245/40/17's in the rear. My car was always fairly loose on concrete. I'm hoping this new setup helps that, and allows me to run a bit more rear shock.

I just installed 215/45/17 ZIIs, and now I'm kinda wishing I had put on some bigger tires.

I think Sean may just have to retrain his right foot to not pedal it like it's a Neon on giant Hoosiers

i would definitely just say to run on that set up and see how you like it
from there decide if you need to go wider.

FR-S: 22mm perrin front bar, on soft. Koni yellows, generally 1/2 - 3/4 from full stiff up front 1/2 - 3/4 from full soft in rear. This setup was good enough for one of the final trophy spots at nationals, on Rivals.

I'll probably do the 235/40/17 Dunlops if I make the trip to Nebraska again....but I don't see the sense in running a tire that doesn't offer contigency for the tours/pro's/match tours when the BFG was just as good/better at what seems like every surface other than a well rubbered in Lincoln airport.

Were you able to get these installed? If so how do you like them?
