No, paint was computer matched by code (E8H) and came out perfect.

Looks good! |

Same route I plan on going on my asphalt. Color matched as well. I was thinking of molding in aerocatch pins though for safety. Completely flush with the hood (no exposed hardware) prior to paint. Can you take some pics of the latch setup underneath? If there is a decent amount of material around it and it seems to have a good bonding area maybe I can skip the hood pins

I have no concerns whatsoever of the Lach failing I can take some pics. It closes tighter than stock. Sent from my SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Good to hear. My concerns are how much latch material is there behind the inner skin and how well its bonded. I've seen too many fail and fly open at the track. I do feel like that was more a thing of the past and times have changed production wise

Good bit of material around the latch. Makes me feel better. Plus the air pressure escaping the vents instead of putting that much extra force on the skin itself

I bought the vents from Rally Sport Direct. Not cheap. And I had a body shop do the work, so I spent more $ there too. BUT, it looks stock (unless you are an owner and can tell the difference). So, that is what I paid for -- the stock look but replacing fake with real. It was like a reverse boob job.

Looks great! Maybe I'll swap my VS hood for one like this.

Did anyone compare ambient/intake/water temperatures on track without and then with vented hood and/or Prova vent openings (with cut out hole)?
I read the thread, have Jackson Racing SC, catted and uncoated P&L header, bunch of extra radiators up front (oil cooler, sc cooler, trans cooler, Koyo)...want to know what else I should do to lower temperatures in the engine bay, if anything, before heading out for 8+ track days this year. Ideally, if I should install vented hood, it wouldn't fly off the car at 120mph+, and it would help by either sucking air in that escapes at the bottom or sucking out air from top...effectively. Also ideally, if it's the vent opening, it would actually suck air out at speed as opposed to not do much at speed. Maybe this is too new and unchartered territory, please school me, thank you |

Double coat your header with the 2200+ temp stuff, coat the inside with coating that can with handle direct contact with fire.
Or get inconel heat shields/wrap. EDIT: catted just wiped out the coating options.

Does anyone have a before and after data that shows the effectiveness of the vented hoods and/or side vents (cut by dremel)? Thanks in advance
