@shiv@vishnu

I did ask in a different thread where others were reporting/documenting the tip in knock problem/phenomenon. There were a couple of suggestions which I'll get around to when I am back home next week.

What would you do to mitigate it? Have you looked for this on your car?
No reports of this on US cars or do people just not log it?
The new firmware just came out and it seems weird that only a couple of aussies are looking at this and we are both on much higher quality fuel.

Hey @shiv@vishnu, quick question on gas used to create the OTS tunes - I'm assuming your 93 in California is a 10% ethanol blend?

Currently using 91 oct Shell V-Power in Canada (to keep crickets away) but thinking of upping to a 94 Octane / E10 blend for more aggressive driving this summer.

Thanks.

He actually tuned using 91 octane is that is the only piss fuel that California is able to provide without buying 100 octane race fuel (unless you get some e85 that is).

Hmm I'm also running with a FA20 CAI. With the uel stage 2 tune, I'm getting an Afr of 11.25 under WOT as well T.T

Silly question but is it counter productive to leave the CAI on? Would stock intake be better and would a custom tune make a huge difference?

Not counterproductive, throwing away a CAI is not easy
Stock is proven to work very well
Huge difference in terms of driveability, performance is the unknown

What should we be seeing of knock correction factor on our logs?

on 93 or better fuel I would expect

IAM = 1
Knock correction 0.02 (ie no correction ideally)
But this car seems to be destined to have some tip in knock (just as you apply accelerator) in the 1500 - 3000 rpm area especially in the 0.7 to 1.1 engine load range.
This was causing my IAM to dip to 0.8 occasionally even on 100 RON (94 AKI US) fuel if you did a fair bit of driving in this range ie traffic.

Currently I am running a ROM with 0.35 degrees pulled from advance in this RPM/load area . I still get the odd knock correction (-0.67 or -0.33) but much less often and less severe (was occasionally -2.1 or -1.3) and as yet it isn't enough to drop my IAM, it staying pegged at 1. But it only been a couple of days.

2. stage 1 ( without JDL UEL header, and It's post learned ) vs

there was FLKC at 7300 RPM . I think that cause torque depression at 7300rpm

Got my OFT yesterday, flashed and did a little bit of driving. Heres a 3rd gear pull, I think it looks pretty good, may need a bit more learning i've only done about 25 miles or so on it.

Damn that looks like it would feel great. I got the USPS shipping notice for mine, so I hope yo have it in my hot little hands by Friday at the latest. Might have to find an awful lot of excuses to run errands for my wife this weekend.... :-)

@shiv@vishnu, is it safe to use the xdf files from the 1.42 tunes to edit the 1.56b tunes?

Yes, but I wouldn't bother using Tuner Pro at this point. Rom Raider is more defined and supports more ROM types.
