Not really a clearance issue but just makes more sense to have it away from the ground

Yea, mine ended up pointing down too but it's no biggie. I've got no plans on going off road with the FRS..

It was something I wouldn't want to do again of course, but just making a point.. I've had mines for about 30K miles, and my [nipple-less] Fumoto valve has yet to get loose, open, or even scratched. |

The lever is sprung, so when the valve is in the closed position it's pushed into a 90° channel that locks the rotation. It would have to be lifted from the channel and then turned to open the valve. The lock ring clip simply prevents it from leaving the lock channel. I was paranoid about this at first, but after using the valve I believe it's unnecessary for 99% of users.

I did this on Sunday, and my fumoto valve did not open. So I would rest assured that it shouldn't be a problem. I am NOT using the locking ring either.
Fast forward to about 1:00.... Ended up something like 200 ft out in the mud. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGNncX0lxco"]Spokes #2 3/9/2014 - STX - BRZ Offroad Excursion - YouTube[/ame] |
