If i heard you correctly you said that the aluminum is rated for 500WHP? Is this a 500WHP launch, or 500WHP period.

http://www.driveshaftshop.com/import...ece-driveshaft

References a 800WHP ujoint...

I never even considered a driveshaft but am wondering if I should be considering one for my build, however if the aluminum is only going to handle 500WHP that worries me a tad bit.

I don't understand why DSS quotes power as the limiting factor. I would have thought torque would have been more appropriate.

Correct TQ will be the factor, but you would be amazed about the amount of people that don't even know torque is something their car makes. Most people honestly think HP is it, so it's easier to do the math and slap a HP number on a product for most people.

I still will... lol

He calls me a walking cliche for wearing automotive related shirts, which I probably am....

Nothing wrong with looking good. I just don't have the eye for it. So walking cliche it is.

YO QUIT PICKING ON HIM - you're giving us menswear acolytes a bad name (jk)

Jeremy, to me - you're like a fine shell cordovan longwing blucher - goodyear welted and all by an old middle aged New England family.

I'm wondering the same thing as well.
-Which one requires less maintenance(if any)
-Which one has a longer life span

Exactly. If they're both going to behave the exact same minus the upper power threshold, I'll be fine with the aluminum version

The biggest difference is noise. The aluminum one transfer more noise into cabin from your rear diff. The CF one is actually quieter then even stock.
