After much thought, I think you guys are right about the FRS. It's a very clean and sport car...and it actually FEELS light when driving it.

As much as I like the 5.0, I can't help but be distracted by how heavy it feels to me.

I think with some Brembos and a turbo, the FRS will be pretty much everything I want for now.

However, if I do choose to buy the FRS after the lease, will I be losing my ass? Or is that something that can't be determined until the time comes?

Glad you made a decision to stay. A turbo on this car will make it *FLY* even just a moderate setup (210-240whp) is faster than 90% of Mustang GT's I've seen at least at WSIR with CSG Mike driving

Also something to maybe consider is an e85 tune. That's a cheap and easy way to get great power, but you'll need to see if an e85 pump is close of course. Looks like there are some in PIttsburg according to e85 maps. I spent $500 on an OFT tablet, and the e85 tune has me satisfied with the power level of this car now. I'm not sure if I'll even be going F/I anymore.

From what I understand though it almost always makes sense to buy the car outright if you can after a lease. I'm sure it ends up being more expensive than just financing in the first place, but that way you didn't spend all that money on the lease for nothing IMO. And you can also re-evaluate at that point whether or not you want something else entirely.

With a TR3 turbo, it'll bump it close to 300hp...and only $3,500!
It says with TR3 injectors and fuel pump, it can easily make more power.
I'm wondering if the e85 would mesh with all of that.

Really? That's unfortunate.

I'll definitely be doing my research before the time comes.

From what I've seen, it looks like JDL turbo is probably best bang for your buck on the market. And looks like very high quality stuff as well.

I think their kit requires modifying the crash bar, but I think they said its possible to route around it just results in longer routing.

There's also the new zage turbo, which looks similar to the Greddy kit, but with a different turbo (more headroom it looks like) and only ~$4k for a plug n play kit. Actually looks really nice and would be on my top considerations personally.

I wouldn't deal with FA20club at all..

Uh, what are you hoping to accomplish by throwing money at the brakes? They're more than adequate stock even with upgraded rubber and power.

I don't like the stock brakes at all.
If I could describe them, I feel like I have two erasers as pads and a blackboard for a rotor.

I'm not sure what brakes were on my BMW, but they were the best brakes I've ever used (same feel as a new SRT8 Grand Cherokee). Hell, even prevented me from rear-ending someone.

e85 is usually good for fi since it usually produces lower temperatures than the alternative.

so maybe try a new pad. the brakes seemed fine to me. brakes can only stop as hard as the tire lets them and im almost positive the brakes have more grip than the tires

Agreed with try different pads, a brake caliper is a brake caliper, the feel change is minimal compared to the physics of what goes on between the pad and caliper. Brake pads are a cheap investment. Sure you can hunt for a firmer pedal or a different curve of resistance over the length of the travel, I just wanted to point out that you're not going to increase performance with bigger brakes unless you're tracking and experiencing fade.

Best of luck.

Well, I've actually had a set of front Brembo calipers since when I bought the car.

When I traded in my Bimmer, I traded it in on an FRS.
The next day, the Bimmer went through the shop, and the guy traded in his FRS on my Bimmer, so I bought some parts off of him fairly cheap.

I figure I may as well not let it go to waste.
