Been heavily considering this solution the last number of months, combined with a better radiator in new england it should be more than adequate. I recently installed the kw kit and have been hoping no items would clash.

Looking at pics found one conflict. Looks like the hard pipe running down front of engine shares mounting holes with the lower kw bracket.

I can't see what is on the other side of the bracket but if there is nothing in the way there, you can still run this set up. You don't have to run the hard line pipe, you can just run a rubber coolant hose all the way down.

definitely doable

just atleast one change that would have to be corrected for.

and it would have to be secured considering the potential for being destroyed if it flapped around

kinda wondering if it would be better just to bend the tabs and mount onto the side of the bracket.

I'm doing this slightly different. The M14x1.5 > -8AN fitting off the block drain plug goes straight into a -8AN heater hose setup. My friend's shop suggested this since this is a popular way for aftermarket turbo coolant hoses to be run.

The hoses are Goodyear, rated for 300PSI. More flexible than normal steel-braided hoses too.

The heater hose pipe I have is PN 14050AB090, different than what everyone else is using. But apparently it's the same part.

Unfortunately I won't have time to install this today, but will have a post-install writeup/pictures to share.

14050AB090 is the same as 14050AA970

In production of the 2014 FXT they used AA970 from 10/12 to 07/13 then switched to AB090 for 07/13 - current production.

Not sure why the new part number because they seem like the same piece, and have an identical price.

I had a hard time finding aluminum AN fittings in Eastern Ontario. I ended up ordering a setup similar to what kostamojen has from summit racing.

M14x1.5 to -8AN adapter
45 degree -8AN to -8AN hose end fitting (-8AN is used to describe the compression fitting as well as the hose diameter, -8AN hose is close enough to 1/2" ID hose)
1/2" heater hose

I ended up ordering the adapter and the hose end fitting from summitracing.com
FRA-460814-BL
RUS-624093

1/2" heater hose can be sourced from local auto parts stores. I have a radium catch can kit and I'm hoping there will be enough excess 1/2" hose from that kit to be used for this as well.

The water pump on the intercooled kit for the Innovate supercharger also shares the same mounting spot as the front pipe on the motor. No issues though with that (have this installed).

If it shares the same spot how difficult did it make the install? I just bought the pieces for this OEM Forester Oil Cooler and want to eventually get the Innovate/Sprinter IC or JR/KW S/C kits but not sure about interference. Did you also upgrade your radiator?

I had the oil cooler installed first before adding the intercooler kit. I literally just unbolted the line, put the water pump bracket over it, and bolted it back on. No modifying or anything like that. I can't comment on the KW kit, but for the innovate, it requires no modification.

Radiator is stock.

Put in the order on Subaru Online Parts on Friday evening. Got this email from them this morning: "THANK YOU FOR YOUR ORDER BUT 14050AA970 PIPE COMPLETE WATER is temporarily unavailable and may not be available for 4-6 weeks."

Keep in mind that pipe is not 100% necessary. If you don't mind Teeing into the stock line, you can set it up like I did and just run a tee into the line instead of replacing that pipe. I did this because it was backordered as well.

I had to go back a few pages to see what T-connector you bought. http://www.lowes.com/pd_314734-61002...facetInfo=Barb

I think I will go down this path as well and save ~$55 in the process. Thanks!

no problem, just make sure you get clamps and you are set. I used the ones that I would have had to use anyways from the list in the first post.

I also tried to not drain the coolant out which made quite a mess, so if you don't mind filling up the system again i'd just empty the coolant out lol. Or, make sure to pinch both sides of that line you splice into. Just hard because of the limited room.

So just to be clear, should I purchase additional clamps beyond what was listed on the first page by the OP? Looks like there are two types of clamps listed, which ones (and # qty) do I need to make the T-connector variant or this install work?

805918010(Qty:3) - HOSE, CLAMP
092315002(Qty:2) - HOSE, CLAMP
