My FRS got hit and its in the body shop. Once I get it back and its not to cold out I'm going to make a step by step Youtube video on how to install the Advanced Keys . It might be a 10 step video but a nutless monkey would be able to install it if they follow the video instructions. Every wire and wire location will be covered.

you seemed to answer your own question? i mean realistically that's exactly what they did. that's how a lot of companies sell products. do the r&d to make the first one to sell. the next year they make incremental changes and call it something new and raise the price even though it costs them nearly nothing in r&d to do. no way that there is a whole new system in the 2014. doesn't seem likely to me at least.

I guess my post may have been poorly worded. What I mean is; is it possible that there is a simple solution from toyota like the fog lights.

I follow you now. But no I don't think there is. There are still various modules you would have to purchase and install. Similar to this one. And it may even require a new ecu or a flash. Or maybe a separate controller. You could probably look up all the parts required for the brz push to start as I'm confident that it's using the same system. I just don't see that being any more cost effective than this solution. It might be "easier" in the sense that everything should just plug in together, but there is also the chance that it would require a whole new harness for the car as well. And that would be a lot of trouble. Plus at least this way you're getting a good bit more functionality. :P

That's so slick. So it looks like the proximity range needs you to be pretty darn close to lock and unlock automatically yeah? That was something I was worried about so that's awesome. And the remote start works too! Freaking sweet. Did you also get the trunk working? Also I read in the other push to start thread that they aren't using Toyota style buttons anymore. Is the one you're using the one you got from them or did you order that separately? Thanks for your work man!

You need to be about 5 ft from the car for the doors to open. Its ok . If not my car doors would be locking / unlocking like crazy. Also, the truck pop work by holding the unlock button on the fob for about 5 seconds. The push button that Advance Keys uses is the OEM Toyota push to start button. Here is a more detailed video on how the Advanced Keys works. It covers everthing.

awesome awesome. as far as the trunk i meant to ask if you had installed the actual trunk switch so that you could just walk up to it and open it without having to fumble with the fob. sorry for not being clear.

No probs with the ? . I installed the trunk wire from the advance keys to the FRS truck wire in the car with out a trunk switch. If I think I know what your asking. You would need the advanced keys fob to open your trunk by holding the unlock button for 5 seconds. You have to connect a wire from the advance keys to do this fuction.
