I've had oft for a while. Flashed to stock for last two visits and the service I got Saturday was actually to change to a new calibration on the ecu. I had my stock 700c, and they updated me to b01c without any question or concern. If ever it was going to show up to a dealership it would be something like this and there was zero issue.

Why did you need to get your stock re-flashed from 700c to b01c?

Ok thanks for letting me know, not going to say that changes anything but I can respect anyone's opinion. As for on topic I have both OFT and EcuTek. I have only left an OFT flash on when I sent the car in for its first oil change and they didn't say anything about it other than complementing the car and asking how the Vette was doing. (Oddly enough all my cars have come from that Toyota dealer) It's almost time for my next oil change so I will leave the EcuTek flash on it and see if they say anything. In FRSDuke's situation it's a good thing he went back to stock since the dealer updated his firmware I'm not sure the OFT would have liked that had he left a custom tune on it. That might be a good topic for Shiv to touch on. Sent from Spaceball 1

No issues here. I just tell the dealer the ECU has been refreshed and ask them to not run any checks on it and that it already has the most recent update. But not every dealer is as accepting as this.

I was able to demonstrate a reasonable need finally. But yes, I did it because I wanted it

I see but what did you get out of it? Would this be something you recommend we all do? I haven't come across someone stating that before so I am a little lost lol

The only thing gained is the idle improvements that the new roms have. Shiv has already merged the other improvements from the other series roms into all the OFT maps and he had commented that he'll look into the new maps

I didn't get anything the oft didn't already give me. It did allow me to try the 1.5x .dev release for oft, but once out of beta they will be available for all cals anyway. Basically it was impatience and a personal mission to force Toyota to update my shit the way I feel they should.

With regards to DI/PI and RaceROM and extending the designed OE range. The designed OE range as I understand it the injectors DI/PI is ratio based. So if DI is using 40% of then the maximum PI can use 60%, or if PI is using 20% then DI can only use a maximum of 80%, and so on. I am not going to give away the farm, but I have figured out a way with EcuTeK RaceROM, so that you can use use a maximum of 100% DI and 100% PI, effectively giving you 200% fuel delivery. It is not something within the standard operating procedures of EcuTeK, but it is in there (in RaceROM) if you know how to look at it. This is how a lot of my tunes work on 350+ whp vehicles (turbo kits and superchargers) running stock injectors on E85. In regards to Speed Density etunes, you are more than welcome to speak to any of my customers running pure speed density on their turbo kits. There are a few out there now and all of them are running quite well and are very happy with the tune. Though I will say it took quite some time to figure out how to make it work well, while using EcuTeK RaceROM to dial in compensations, and of course it is still being revised for improvements. Cheers, William Knose |

. please don't be mad when i figure it out and sell the farm lol.i'm going to be doing a full speed density tune this evening for a local turbo car, and i don't expect it present any major issues, especially given the ability to create any comp map i could imagine needing. it's being done because the maf on the particular kit he is using is extremely inconsistent below 1.4-1.5v, and is effecting drivability to the point that speed density looks like a better option until we can get a new maf tube. i'll be sure to update the community as to how that goes. |
