Motul is better during summer and feel good after the car warm up during winter. Just alot harder during the first few mins.

I m wondering that do I have to change the gasket? i think the shop that change the oil for me did not.

Can anyone say "no" and explain it in order to make me feel better?

The drain/fill plug gaskets on the transmission are the nice thick aluminum type (not like the ones on the oil pan). Unless it is leaking, don't worry about it. You can get away with using 'em a couple of times.

So I had the Mitec springs, perrin rear shifter bushing, kartboy tranny insert, MTL in the tranny and MOTUL 300 in the Diff and it's still very inconsistent. When it's warm it's better, but still having issues at times... seems like a lot of 86 owners are still having issues?

Would bleeding the clutch and/or changing the clutch pedal height help? The car wouldn't be so bad if this issue was fixed.

Does it change anything to just do the tranny fluid and not the differential?

Here is the drain plugs from tranny and diff. Also dirty ass oil from around 20k miles in my make shift oil pan. I had problems shifting into first gear before I changed my tranny oil. I would have to try to put it in twice before it went into gear. All good now.

I've been tossing this idea around. How light do you think we can safely go?

Having run the motul tranny and rear diff fluid for ~500 miles now and in ~50 degree weather down here, WORLDS better than the factory fill.

Most notably, 1st to 2nd upshifts.

Motul 300. I swear when cold 1st-2nd is harder than factory fill but everything else is smoother.

All gears definitely a bit smoother after warmed up.

Didn't really feel any difference on the first switch, just replacing with OEM fluid. Tried the Amsoil brand next, it was only a slight improvement & still just as bad when the tranny was cold. Then I tried Pentosin after that.. it was a night & day difference!

While i believe everybody should do this including my self.

If you really wanna get rid of that nasty "notchyness" feeling, especially on 3rd gear you will need to replace the springs with MTEC.

http://www.mtecind.com/diy/scion-frs...pring-install/

These 2 little springs made a HUGE difference and its a very easy install, I have this along with:

Kartboy rear bushing

Whiteline Gearbox mount

Force Fab transmission mount http://www.forcedfabllc.com/products...cion-fr-s.html

Lastly Billet pro short shifter.

Amazing setup it actually feels nice and sturdy like my 2011 STI

I pretty much have this same setup except I'm using the stock shifter.
My shifts are amazing!.. and I'm still on the factory fluid.
