Assuming the core is non directional, that is better routing than most kits i have seen. Is there room in the bay to clock the compressor housing about 80 degrees so that the charge pipe comes off under the filter?
I've never heard of a directional core. From cleaning it out after the welding it flows the same either direction as far as I can tell. I certainly plan on replacing the intercooler with a better aftermarket core. The Evo core was only used to save some cash. IC cores are pretty expensive.

I could spin the housing around but then that would put the piping closer to the hot manifold and the external waste gate. It would also ad another bend to go up and over the frame rail.

Awesome work btw.
I can weight both of them tomorrow. Im certainly thinking of doing a AL version after all this stainless is killing my hole saws.

Haha, actually this picture was taken from the chair at my welding table. I stopped welding because I had that feeling someone was watching me. He is a ninja sometimes.

I've been calling every tool supply company lookng for something more durable. There are plenty of stronger saws but they won't mount on the tubing notcher I use. Everyone tells me it's time to upgrade to a mill.

Stole a little time today for the BRZ. Since I plan to leave the filter right on the turbo I wanted to build a fresh air duct. Also ordered a bunch for parts to gets this project over the hill. Spal fans, TurboSmart clamps, eBoost2 boost controller.

Hare you using pulsed DC TIG or non pulsed for the thin awg material?

I have made a front triangulated bar using thin walled 4130 tube myself and would like you to critique it. I will post up photos later.

Non pulsing, my syncrowave doesn't have it. I see the value in it but I think to many guys use it as a crutch.

Go ahead and post what your working on. I don't do much cromo work but I'll take a look.

^^^ I definelty want to make some air flow improvements. I'm kinda jealous of the larger mouth on the FRS. However I'm not allowing myself to cut any factory parts to make this kit work. If I cut a bumper I will find a second one to alter.

Have you ever thought of mass producing this brace, for sale ?
