Looked at your data map - looks like you went 1/2 throttle through 1st gear then full throttle through the tail end of gear 2 and 3? You might want to do a run or two in third gear starting from ~2k RPM and going all the way to the 4th gear shift. This will give you a full gear to look at.

There was a post about about a .71 IAM here, I think. I flashed my stock ROM and the IAM has started at .70. I'm assuming that that is the default coarse value, and it learns from there.

Since I work 24 hour shifts I wasn't able to adjust the map until I got home this morning. I've adjusted the pulse width's up by another 5% instead of messing the the fuel enrichment tables. If that doesn't get me started on the first attempt of cranking I might play with the fuel enrichment tables, either way I can get it to crank on the second cranking attempt as it is, which is much better than it was.

On a different subject, I've been considering getting Perrin's Big MAF 3" cold air intake. They include the MAF scaling adjustments for their intake. Would this be all I need to adjust in my rom to use this or will there be other issues with using this and E85?

Hi everyone.

Just got my OFT today and flashed to the E85 stage 2 map. God I love how the car pulls

I was wondering if anyone familiar with how to interpret logs could tell me how things are running so far. Hoping everything is good to go and I can just enjoy the new found power

Your log looks pretty terrific. AFR at WOT is in the low to mid 12s and ignition advance multiplier is solid at 1.0. Timing looks consistent and fuel time is insignificant (less than -1%). Your car must feel great!

For fun, flash back to the stock ROM for a bit. Mine is totally stock, but after spending a day blasting around with the Stage One tune the stock tune, ahh, sucks. Can someone please explain in simple terms just what is happening at around 4k to cause that massive change in the sound of the engine? If I am reading things correctly (noob), the exhaust timing is changed, correct? Just what am I hearing? Since a lot of that noise is coming from the sound tube some of that noise is intake, correct?

Good to hear that the readings aren't off or anything. The car was already fun to drive, but now I can't do anything except think about places I can drive it without getting pulled over

Lets see how cold starts turn out tomorrow morning. Dropping down to about mid 30s in AZ, but the car is garaged so hopefully I don't end up being late to work trying to start up

I believe due to the changes in VVT, there's some valve overlap that's making the noise. But I'm sure Shiv could better explain it.

If I were a betting man, I'd wager that during the factory tuning process they encountered this very same sound but decided to trade a bit of power to get rid of it because average consumers these days are afraid to hear anything from the motor.

When I first heard it. I admit it scared me a bit, but I can't lie I love the extra power.

I noticed the same sound. Very raspy and loud right at 4k RPMs - does seem to be coming from the intake. I have my sound tube plugged but I can still hear it very clearly. Not a very pleasant sound

That is completely normal given the big exhaust valve timing shift that occurs at 3800rpm. It's there to reduce the duration of the torque dip. If you want to eliminate that noise, you can do so by making the shift less dramatic but it will cost you torque/response. Personally, I like the sound but that's probably because I now it's doing something good

OpenFlash Tablet E85 (and gasoline) Maps now available

IIRC, I believe the raspy sound comes from VVT tables, meant to shorten the length of the torque dip. At least that's what I remember Shiv saying at one point.

I like it as well. And this is just a mosthly conservative tune, correct?

It's certainly not super aggressive. As I understand it, going from a well calibrated conservative map only gives up a tiny bit of power over the super aggressive map. But in backing things off slightly (to be conservative), you essentially get a tune that can be used in a variety of cars in a wide range of conditions. The guys at Vishnu have been tuning Suby engines for 15 years so I feel pretty comfortable with the drugs that they are pushing
