OpenFlash Tablet E85 (and gasoline) Maps now available
Hi guys,
New FREE maps (v1.34) can now be downloaded from our website. These include our new E85 maps. As per the Read Me File (please read carefully): 11/18/13 v1.34beta Changes: -Revised VVT Exhaust mapping for more power above 7200rpm in all tuned ROMs -Implemented Soft Rev limiter feature in all tuned ROMs -Revised Idle Target mapping for lower engine speed during cold start (by popular request) -Added E85 maps for US Market ROMS (C and D series). This map is intended for cars running straight E85 fuel. As with all of our maps, this is intended for cars equipped with stock airbox housing. Aftermarket filter and modified duct is recommended for maximum power. Please note that this map was calibrated on a car with aftermarket carless header. It has not yet been tested on vehicles with stock header. -Updated XDF files for all ROMs. Non-US XDF files still aren't complete but they are slightly more developed than last release. Other info: Currently, we recommend only running straight E85 fuel with out E85 map. This means running your gasoline level low (until low fuel light comes on) and then filling up with E85. And from that point onwards, running straight E85 with each additional fill up. During the next couple of weeks, we will be doing testing on various ethanol % contents to determine how flexible the tune. Until then, we recommend sticking with straight E85 if you choose to run the E85 tune. When you want to go back to running gasoline, just run the tank of E85 low and then fill up with gasoline. But don't forget to flash your ECU with the gasoline tune map or else your tune will be much too aggressive! Please note that we have revised cold cranking fuel enrichment so that the engine starts up first try in the morning when running E85. But our cold mornings here in CA haven't been that cold (45F). As the winter drags on, and temps drop, we will probably revise these tables a bit. So if you live in a winter wonderland, don't be surprised if you need to crank the engine a couple of times before it finally starts first thing the morning. Now that on-screen data viewing is functional, here's some more info on what you should see when running the E85 tune: - At full throttle, AFR should be in the 12.5-12.8 range - At full throttle, long-term fuel trims should be well within +/- 4%. Immediately after the flash, it will be 0%. But then it will slowly adapt over time. As long as you are running the stock airbox, it shouldn't move around much. If you are an aftermarket intake and see big fuel trims, this map may not be suitable for you. Lastly, if anyone has any issues with the E85 map, please email me directly at shiv@vishnutuning.com. Cheers, Shiv |
So excited. Just added 2 gallons of fuel this afternoon so I need to go find a reason to burn off those to fill up with E85! Thanks shiv, I don't think I've been so excited about a mod in quite a while.

This is exciting news. What sort of issues (running rich, running lean, retarded timing) do you think is going to arise with a stock header and the tune?

Is there a stage 1 premium gas map included in 1.34? Thanks! So glad I bought into this platform, loving the constant activity and development!
Edit: nvm read description on website :) Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk |

@shiv@vishnu - At a minimum, do I only need this e85 tune to run E85 on my car with success? or do I need more than just the tune to run E85?
|
@shiv@vishnu
So there's no Stage 1 E85 map, correct? Catless headers are required to safely run this tune? |

This is exciting Shiv! good work! I am still waiting for FI support :) Also Bravo on Data logging!

Great news guys - if you have E85 convenient to you it's a whole different world. I'm pretty surprised the E85 maps are so tolerant of fluctuations in ethanol conent - I guess with a NA motor the benefits of full E85 are overkill? It would be good to define the minimum ethanol content necessary for this map, as well as how the long term trims adapt.

Too bad I literally just filled up last night, didn't realize this would be released so early in the week. But I'm definitely excited to try it out. Luckily I only go through a tank in about 2 days or so.

I've got E85 *relatively* close. I'll try it out soon. Just filled up yesterday.
