My wife and I just want our son (and whoever comes later down the road) to have an appreciation and respect for different cultures and societies.
Edit: should also add that I hope my son developed an appreciation for cars. Would love to share that with him. Don't see why he wouldn't love to be driven around in a BRZ.

I drove on my mom's lap and on the middle of a TR-7's tunnel in the early 80's when I was a baby.
I sat on pillows in the front seat of a Mustang, just so I could see. I rode in the back seat of a Prelude from California to Texas. If I can do it my kids can too!* *In a baby seat, of course!

I have a 14 month only and one due in may, I plan on getting one, although I won't be the first model year or even the 2nd, going to take some time to save up the money since I'm making a payment for the "family car" right now and of course need money for the diapers and everything else.
After they are both out of diapers all the diaper money per month will be going to the side for a down payment. So that should be between 100-200 a month put to the side along with the normal money I put aside for video games and computer upgrades. edit: Roughly 300 a month, so I'll be saving for a little over a year and combine it with the tax refund. |

I got a 2 yr old and a 2012 scion tc. The way I see it, he still sits in a car seat that fits him, when he grows out of the car seat he'll still be small enough to fit in that space they call the backseat of the frs.

I have a 19 month old, newborn on the way and in the process of adopting my neice (4yr) and nephew (13months). We have a Expedition to carry the kids around in.
This will be my toy when Im home so its either this, a used 911, 'Vette, new Camaro, new Stang, or used Supra. I dont think your selfish as long as you are contributing to your kids, wife, and college savings. |

Father of 2 boys (5 and 2). Nothing wrong with getting an FR-S if you have other vehicles for the family. My 5yr old has car fever already and knows what drifting is and how daddy's turbo sounds. Has been to drag/drift/autox events. Fiance use to drag/street race before having my first born.
Don't see a problem with living life like you want, and raising a family as well. If you don't have a financial backing though to support both, you got to pick one or the other. |

Two boys: 10 and 7. The FT86 will be my daily driver.
I wouldn't get a coupe if I had an infant (or even a child too young to buckle in himself in). I traded my GSR liftback for a WRX wagon shortly after my first son was born partly because unclipping/removing the seat was wreaking havoc with my back. Having kids isn't for everyone. But it changed my perspective on life, filling a void I didn't know existed, and providing me with joy I didn't know was possible. |

In passing your teachings and genes to your children you are passing a piece of yourself into perpetuity. What will you leave behind once your time has past other than worm food? Who will be there to remember you and those wonderful things you did?The only concern I have of using this car as a daily to haul kids around is the safety aspect. Not to say a bigger car will guaranty safety in a crash. But we all know the smaller car will suffer more in a crash against something bigger. As a daily for me by myself it is perfectly fine. |

I would take a modern 2005+ compact vs a pre-2000 F-150 in a head on every day and twice on Sunday. Even a smart car would probably tear the f-150 cab in half. The 2012-13 models have to take tests that weren't even thought of 10 years ago - kids are virtually always safer in newer cars. Also consider the ease in which your smaller car can avoid the accident in the first place. I also don't think the frs/brz is going to have much of a rollover tendency.
