By the time I (hopefully) become an FR-S owner in September, our daughter will be 5-1/4. She already gets herself into the back seat of my Civic sedan and buckles herself in. I'll park her in the right rear seat (like now) of the FR-S, behind the front passenger. That way, she'll be sitting behind momma (who is short=plenty of legroom for her) and I can keep an eye on her.

Heres my plan...I have a 8 month old daughter, which I plan on handing over the keys to the 15 year old BRZ when she starts driving. Not to sound all bunta like...but the plan is ..this car will teach her car control, being a manual, RWD and low powered, she will be a better driver driving the BRZ right out.

But ill get the car back when she graduates and starts going to college. She would need something a bit better /upscaled to fit her social and economical needs as a female college student. Probably some sort of sedan.

College students do not need nice cars.

i agree, if she goes out of state for college shes not getting a car. But if she stays here and goes to University of Washington, theres no way she will function without a car. Having Seattle, and UW campus, and Seattle U campus all closely nit into one area makes public transportation impossible for students here. Also i want to buy her a safer built car, like a legacy Sedan. Especially because we get good consistent rain throughout the year.

Expensive yes, a waste no. My sons arrival motivated me to get in better shape and position myself for a better post at my job. .

What if your parents and your wife's parents felt that way?
I guess that makes you a waste of time and money.

+1!

I love all 3 of my kids, even I'd they do sometimes drive me nuts! If anything they've helped keep me feeling young, especially my little girl.

To each their own, though. If you don't want kids, then you probably shouldn't have any. Calling them a waste of time and money is a bit short-sided and selfish though.

I completely agree. I respect his decision not to have kids, but if he truly thinks that "you only live once, so make it count...."' then it makes no sense to call the the gift of life a waste of time and money. My 4 kids are the greatest gift the big man upstairs has ever given my wife and I.

They are priceless.

For someone who lives to explore, travel, and gain insight of the revolving world. Then kids are a waste of time and money.

For someone who lives for life, the welbeing of loved ones, and the values the sanctity of family growth. Then traveling and exploring is a waste of time and money.

different strokes for different folks

You only live once, make it count the way your heart tells you.

I agree in principal, but I would state it differenty, if you plan to travel world, then it might not be a good idea to have kids, since you would not probably spend the approriate amount of time or money on the kids, which would be a disservice to the kids, rather than the kids themselves being actually a waste of time and money. I believe that was what you were stating, but just clarifying.
