FT86 vs Competitors (german market)

different competitors at the german market are:

VW Scirocco R, FWD, 265 hp

Renault Megane RS coupé, FWD, 250 hp

BMW 125i coupé, RWD, 218 hp

Mini JCW coupé, FWD, 211 hp

Audi TT coupé 2.0 TFSI, FWD or AWD, 211 hp

Peugeot RCZ, FWD, 200 hp

it won´t be easy for the BRZ / FT86 at the german market...

Except for the BMW they are all FWD - so fail.... at least as a comparable car. How about some RWD competition in the FT-86 price range?

And the BMW 125i is huge, high, and awkward compared to the tiny FT-86 coupe.

first, we all don´t know the pricing yet, but for example the price for a Subaru WRX STI starts at 46.400 Euro in Germany
http://www.subaru.de/fileadmin/downl...ti-spec-19.pdf
the higher equipped sport versions are listed with 51.500 Euro

FWD isn´t that bad

Scirocco R vid, password is evoservice

ok, these two Sciroccos aren´t bone stock

Wouldn't the FT-86 compete more closely with the Scirocco 2.0 TSI rather than the R?

Japanese cars tend not to be very well accepted in Germany, so I don't think it will win any sales races, but I do think it will compare very favourably to the125 coupe, JCW and Scirocco 2.0 TSI Numbers wise. I do believe it will be a far more special car than any of those three though.

The Megane RS is other wordly despite being FWD so it will undoubtedly be faster, but there is just so much more fun to be had with a rwd platform.

These are all cars with much more power except for the MX maybe but thats a convertible and they are always expensive.

If the FT86 / BRZ is going to be more than 27k it's not going to be a succes. In terms of power it will have to compete with the Cio RS and Corsa OPC and the new Fiesta ST ( if they're ever gonna release it ) and these are all 26k and less cars.

Because why would you buy a 30k+ FT86 if you can buy a megane RS for the same amount which is faster and will give u 300+ bhp with only a ECU remap?

they need to get the price spot on other wise it's a shame of all the effort they've put in to it.
