This is not entirely true, as a 9" wide tire will give more grip, but for this car you don't really need anything past an 17x8" wheel. I personally will get 17x9" for that bit extra grip and sex appeal

Well look at it like this, unless you are tracking the car then you probably don't need V3s. Hell, even if you are racing your car, getting V3s isn't the only option(an expensive one at that). If your goal is good looks, then aim for a suspension set up that will allow you to get the drop you want, without destroying the ride quality.

Got any others you suggest? I mean i am going to track my car but overtime i'm going to need to get good parts, either way you think if i can fit these wheels onto my car without the suspension at the moment? Cause like several people say the fitment is fine some say it isnt.. Or shoudl i just take them to my local shop and see what they can do

I would buy the coilovers first so that you know the wheels will fit, then I would buy the wheels. Just don't take out anything you can't replace!

Some good suggestions for cheaper coilovers are Fortune Auto, my friend has Feal and he seems to like it, ST is a good budget coil, and you can check out KW V1s, not as adjustable as the V3 but still amazing. Do not get Megans or Racelands, I have heard they are pretty terrible.

Can someone just like help out and explain if these would fit if i stretched the tires to fit on a stock suspension
Get what you can when you can. Don't take the loss because you bought the wrong size. You'll get the parts in time. Don't make the foolish mistake of selling them. You'll regret it later.

Without aftermarket suspension, most of the problem you will encounter is the inner part of your wheels rubbing against the stock suspension. While I do suggest getting coil overs eventually, if you do not have the budget at the moment, you could run a spacer to make sure you have no clearance issue for the time being. It will have that 4x4 look for a bit, but you can address that later. After you have your money for coilovers, simply remove the spacers.

Two more points I do want to make. First, tire fitment is subject to many different opinion. I follow the school of proper fitment over stretched, so for a 9.5" wheel I suggest at least 245/35/18. Second, when it comes to coil overs, unless you go with the best of the best (also the most expensive), it will be difficult to get excellent performance while maintain outstanding streetability (proper dampening on the streets, minimal noises, etc). Have a budget it mind, and then get the best value for what you could afford. Good luck!

The new Corvette comes with 8.5" fronts and 10" rear. Anyone who thinks 9.5 for our car is a reasonable performance mod, is delusional. This is made even more true by the fact that people put tires on 9.5" wheels, that would fit on 8" or 8.5" rims. Clearly they are not thinking of grip.

This "bit extra grip" only makes sense if you're going to put very wide tires on those 9" wheels. Tires that would not fit on 8 or 8.5. If not you will be looking at less not more grip. Keep in mind, you can fit 245+ on 8" rims.

245/35/18 on a 9.5" is within specs.

the extra 30mm does provide additional "grip" reasoanably

I agree, but usually those people want the wheels just for the looks. Doesn't make sense to me though, I like a nice fat tire on a wheel, rather than the rubber band look.. And can you really fit 245 on 8" wheels? I know some people have gotten 235 on an 8" wheel, which I thought would be the max limit. I know 255 are pretty common on 9 inchers.

245 on a 9.5" wheels will provide a lot less cornering grip then 245 on a 8.5". The gains in straight line grip will be negligible given the low power output
