makes you want an ethanol tester right? At least adding a pinch of pump gas is easier than re-engineering the whole fuel map.

I haven't had any non start first starts yet. But I do notice it takes the starter an extra second or two before the motor turns over. This has only been with a cold engine. Warmed engine will turn over like it was on pump gas.

Update: couple of non starts now. Weather is colder, in the 50s. Perhaps it's my second tank of fuel is less ethanol.

Anyone getting a popping sound on cold starts? If I touch the throttle it stops and rpms hold around 2k ish for a few seconds then start to drop. Its been in the 20s and 30s here lately.

any tuning tweaks available/recommended for improving cold starting?
Run less ethanol. One would assume that in an area as cold as yours they would have e70 or so in the tanks right now, but maybe not....How do your fuel trims look at load?

Adding a gallon of 91 would help cold starts but it also causes you to run richer. If your trims are close to zero then you can throw a gallon in and you'd likely be about 4% rich (which is still ok) If your trims are at all lean then the gallon would be a no brainer.

I'm going back to 93oct this afternoon... mainly because there is only one station that sells E85 in my area and it its about 20min from my workplace - but about 40min from my house. As such, I ran two full tanks out this week (on E85 fumes right now) during a weeks worth of driving. Granted, I've been hammering the throttle more so than usual and I can say without a doubt the car is fast on the corn juice and Vishnu's E85 tune.

That said, I'm looking forward to the OFHeader... I hope with the edition of the header I can run the Stg2 tune and 93oct and get close to what the car pulls on the E85/E85tune. (And I can always swing by and fillup for those times when I need burn some corn!!!)

You'll need to bump up the cranking fuel pulse widths values.

Is there no way to prime the fuel system with E85 before switching maps? Beside running on the standard tune with E85 added to the tank. What if you run the the standard tune with E85 fuel too long? What kind of adverse effects does that have? What about when you want to switch back from E85 to regular premium gasoline?

Ok.. back on the 93oct - missing the punch of the E85 already.

A few other things I noticed also... the chirp is back (HPFP). The exhaust seems to drone more loudly at highway speed (70mph/3Kish). I also noticed the rasp at around 4K seems louder as well (back on the stg1 tune)

That sounds about right. My first tank was around 21.6 then it ranged anywhere from 17-22 mpg. Depending on how heavy my foot was.

you'll just see your fuel trims creep positive until it's all blended through, up to 25-30%. you can put in the e85, start the car, watch the logs for the trims to start to rise as it idles then turn it off and flash the new map once they've risen.

I filled up a tank of E85 then flashed the e85 stage 2 tune. Everything seems to be working fine. Advanced multiplier pinned at 1.0 LT fuel trim at about 7% currently, ST fuel trim floating around +- 3%.

I've noticed a loud tapping noise when the throttle is slightly depressed. The tapping sound is definitely coming from the fuel system. Louder on the driver side(HPFP side). Anyone else notice that?
