Smile Our Stage 2 E85 OTS map tested on stock car

First of all, let me say that DataZap is awesome (thank you for your hard work @jpsimon)... here's why:

http://datazap.me/u/shivvishnu/rc51e...-car?1-9-11-12

This is a datalog I took, during a very spirited drive, an hour ago on RC51's car. We were tested our Stage 2 E85 OTS map on his essentially stock car (cat-back only). Stock intake, stock header, stock cat,.

So far, so good. Map seems to work fine on a stock vehicle. If anything, it is running slightly rich (as expected) due to the added exhaust restriction. This caused the LTFP to go a bit negative (-4.69%) But that is probably welcome until further fine tuning is done. Advance multiplier stays put at 1.0 and AFR is in the mid to low 12s at WOT. So at this point, those who want to run the Stage 2 E85 map in their stock car can do so as long as they keep track of LTFP, AFR and Adv Multiplier. Not just right after the switchover to the E85 but also daily for the next few days to make sure that long term learning doesn't make you run too rich and/or Adv Multiplier starts to drop (indicated too aggressive of a tune). For those who don't want an interactive tune, just hold off until it's tested/tweaked further. But that may take a little while since we have so much on your plate at this time

Cheers,
shiv

I can confirm similar results on my stock car. My LTFT ended up moving even closer to 0 after a few hundred miles. I'm still rich overall, but only like 1-2%. My advanced multiplier dropped a tad bit from 1, initially, but moved back to one after 120 miles, and has stayed there since.

I can also confirm running well on the stock setup (similar numbers to both other cars). Also as an added bonus, besides the car pulling like a bat outa hell, here is a log of the warmup process from a cold start in 20 degree weather. The car fired up first time no problem .

Count me as a tester with the stock header; (Only mods are a drop-in K&N and a Magnaflow catback, and of course an awesome OFT tune!)

I switched to the STG2 E85 map last night... the station pump rating was at least 70% ethanol. As suggested I drove the car to empty and filled up with the corn, took almost 12gal... I ran gently on the STG1 map for about 10mi before switching to the E85 map.

After switching I ran gently, nothing beyond 4k rpms.... wanted to run at least an 1/8 tank of fuel through before I start with some wot runs (which will be later today!) Really looking forward to see how the FA20 handles the corn.

I do have some concerns though (but obviously not enough to not try the juice.) It seems that everyone I talk to has a horror story about E85. Engine sludge problems, injector gunk problems, rubber dry rot etc...

I will likely run a few tanks of E85 through my car so I can judge for myself.

I flashed over to the stg2 E85 map last night (stock header). I filled up on about 11.5gal. Drove the car about 2 miles before flashing to the E85 map. I drove easy for about 15 miles before going WOT. The car definitely seems to pull harder and torque dip is minimal if any at all. I data logged a couple of my WOT pulls.

I also do have concerns about running E85. I have heard many pros a cons about running it. It seems alto of people on here have put in a good amount of miles with no issue. Guess i'll see what happens.

I drove @RC51ed car also, same road. Quite pleased with the results. Plenty more power and definitely a pleasure to drive.

Do you have an intake or any other mods? I noticed your AFRs are a bunch richer than mine at WOT. Your car was consistently mid 11s. Mine is mid 12s (about where Shiv wants it to be). What was the approximate temp while you logged?

I have a k&n drop in. That's about it. I just removed the snorkel today. Going to do another log to see if there is any difference. I would say it was around 75° at the time.

Don't remove the snorkel as that will increase your IAT by 20F. Instead just shorten it and widen the new shorter inlet (heat gun and some elbow grease required).

I shortened and widened mine today. I don't see any indication through engine load values that it has made any positive difference in air flow. On the plus side, it hasn't messed up my AFRs at all.

I'll log some more tomorrow though since where I live I'm at around 1500ft above sea level and most of my logs are done right around sea level. Based on rough calculations my car makes 4.2% less power here...and my logs showed an engine load decrease of ~3.9% today...so I suppose in "theory" the trimmed snorkel netted me a .3% power increase.

Good to know. Glad I didn't drive to much like that. Just took an angle grinder and cut it up. Any idea why my AFR's are getting so low?

Pulled my log from this morning's E85 drive... about 30min or so from cold start. Only a few pulls, nothing too hard - mostly just rolling through some curves and hills 60-80mph. Second log is just a quick pull to 4th - very short, WOT wham bam!!!

http://datazap.me/u/krulux

Car/Engine is running well on the corn juice... (E85/70%). Pulls very strong and sounds excellent. Wish I had a local shop to dyno her... feels like a 25% increase over stock by the butt dyno.

Two 👍👍 for shiv showing some new nice roads with a very spirited drive. After shiv gave me the ok to drive the car with the stage 2 e85 map. I went to visit @MyRx and he wanted to see what the hype was about. Very pleased with the results... The fuel tank ran low today in the southbay today and after I filled up on my way back the car really woke up. Amazing base tune for e85.

Kinda makes you wonder how much more a custom tune could push out...
