If you didn't here it from the rep themselves I place zero stock in this. It's just another rumor.

If this car sells like first year miatas and 350z then 25 cars out of 35000 (combined frs + brz) is a small number. As others mentioned, it would be that dealers entire years supply but still a small number. If they weren't lieing to you (or just misinfrmed) then your group represented 3% of total US sales for the year which is signigicant.

I read through your gb thread and you definitely got a raw deal and it looks like you. Personnally put a lot of work into it so I feel bad for you more so than the others but the numbers they gave you just don't seem realistic to me. This is going to be a 15 mo model run so 1200 cars is like 4 a day coming out of the factory. That is getting close to hand built production #s. Can't be right. 2 an hour makes more sense.

I hope you're right, Dave. That makes more sense.

There's a reason that no one likes going to the dealership. Even walking in to look at a car feels slimy.

I cannot believe that they would say "only 1200 all year". I mean I know that one factory is supplying the whole world but you think they'd be able to pop out a few more than that. Then add the fact that they've probably been building their stockpile for months, it just doesn't make any sense.

I wonder what the max capacity of the factory is?

I've been told the 2 per dealer number, but it wasn't specified if that was per month or for the whole year. I would guess per month, but who knows.

Response from a random dealer in the middle of my state (MI):

We have already been informed by our Subaru Representative, that due to it's limited release as well the specifications of this vehicle and the region we are located in, we will not be receiving any Subaru BRZ.
I bet they sell plenty of Imprezas though

Clarification - no allocation cars for them. They will still be able to place orders once the bank opens up

I agree.. Someone has to know someone on the "inside" who can clear up the confusion. If only 1,200 cars are made this year, it is going to be a PR fiasco for Subaru.

I emailed their customer support with what the california dealer said and my opinion on it. I sent it so they could make a statement if they wanted to. I also mentioned this site in case someone over there wanted to make an account here and reply to this situation.

I wish globalisation would hit that market too... We should be able to order our cars ONLINE, choose EVERY SINGLE OPTIONS we want, want led? do not want keyless but want gps? No problem, etc etc... And get it delivered to your door 3-5weeks.

I hate when manufacturer makes you pick a big package when you only want a certain item. Ex: Having to pick navigation when you want HIDs.... wtf!

Dave who did you email? Someone at Cherry Hill? I know Zaku was going to reach out to them as well. If they knew one of the largest BRZ communities is slowly getting irritable due to false/lack of information, maybe they can clarify and set this straight.
