Well, the only way to know is have one precharger and postcharger, then compare that between non-intercooled and intercooled.

The w2a setup in my MR2 has shown to be effective for +50 celcius improvement on a 20 mins track session and that's on a highly inefficient 80s roots blower. Granted I have a massive reservoir in that, nothing you guys can't do by utilising the space left over from going with a smaller battery.

I don't think the capacity is the issue, but an improved core may improve things one turning up the boost.

This is all I am using

And just a tiny 350hp rated intercooler on frozenboost.
So yeah, pretty confident the reservoir size has massive benefits.

It may well do on the Roots setup, but my tuner reckons that the temps stabilize quickly and therefore the capacity isn't an issue. I suggested I may do mine and he said he didn't see much benefit, it certainly wouldn't see a worthwhile power change. However a more efficient core inside the manifold may help reduce intake temps.

Well roots type run a whole lot hotter, I've seen over 100 degrees Celsius after charger. Highest temp after w2a was 52 degrees over an entire track day.

In any case, more liquid takes longer to heat up. With the right size heat exchanger per fluid ratio, it'll make it even harder to heat soak with more fluid.

Are laminova cores really that bad compared to the conventional design? Mine is just some China unknown eBay special...

Something I have been doing to track the performance of my car is use Virtual Dyno. The magnitude might not be correct but you can clearly see the difference. This will also fix any problems with cooling when you are on a stationary dyno so you can see more "real life" results. Here is a post from my build page proving that this program is actually consistent and repeatable.

The first graph is 4 runs, all on the first tuner. Some of the variance could be because I wasn't starting exactly on the same spot, but close. I took them in alternating fashion. East 1 West 1 East 2 West 2.

As you can see my road is a little east bias. Its close enough for me. I could take the average of the two runs and see where that got me but I am not that concerned. It proved to me that the results were repeatable. Each run was made with about a 5 minute down time to let the vehicle cool. Its not perfect I know but its better than paying for dyno time. IMHO!

The second graph shows again how my road is east bias. Both are the Delicious Tune.

If I get another chance I'll head out to mexico again and do 6 or 8 runs to get some more data.
I don't have the charge cooler and it's too cold to do anything here so more data is going to have to wait till spring but once I get the cooler I WILL be collecting a LOT.

What is the best way to check if the charger is leaking?

I did a few runs against a stock 86 in 3rd gear from 3000rpm and the stock 86 pulled away until I reached 5000rpm where I pulled it back in and overtook it.
Not a happy chappie

Have you got no way of monitoring/logging what is going on? Doesn't seem like you're having the best of luck. Do you trust your tuner as really you should be discussing things over with them?

He's using Delicious. My guess is the other guy was in first or second second.

Correct I'm using Delicious and have discussed this and sent the video.
The other guy claims he was in 3rd, I too presumed he cheated and dropped into 2nd as the way he pulled away from me just Did not make sense.

Bill said to check for leaks at the back of the Charger, so hence I asked what I could use to check if there is a leak, as I can't feel anything.

You need to hook up a compressor to the intake somewhere, probably onto the throttle body would be easiest. Regulate the air up to about 1 bar should be adequate.

In your ambient heat though, if the ECU is mapped correctly, it will start to reduce power based on high air charge temperatures.

Dish soap mixed with water in a spray bottle. It will make bubbles if there's an air leak.
