I honestly can't say for sure if there will or won't be a big performance gain from these new brake systems on the FT86/FR-S/BRZ. I have read that 6 piston is a bit overkill for these cars. However, whenever you can reduce unsprung weight and increase braking power there are gains to be seen. Will those gains be large enough to justify the cost? That remains to be seen. Considering there is interest in the Radi-Cal brake from CSG (Not necessarily for the FT86 platform) I would say they might be worth looking into. We might just have to wait and see if they are a viable option for these cars. Again, this is just a thread to gauge interest and see if it would be worth developing a system and get the word out about the Radi-CALs.

I've run into some Stillen products when I worked sales for Nissan. Great products! With AP's good name tacked on I would be super interested in these, both for show and maybe a little track. My only worry is what wheel fitment would be like.

Thanks @cmcauley! There would be fitment issues with the current kits available (being made or 19"+ wheels. We would have to use a smaller caliper (if we develop one for wheels in the 16-18" range for it to work well. 19" wheels on these cars would be a bit big (pretty sure everyone has and will agree) for both looks and performance. If we were to make a kit we would take into consideration the stock and popular aftermarket wheels sizes being used.

They weigh less than stock I believe, so there's value there. That is likely offset by changes in where that mass is (moment of inertia both in the bigger rotors AND the larger wheels required to run them).

The calipers are cool. The race version of the Radi-Cal calipers (like the CP7031, CP6382, CP5095, etc) are SERIOUSLY cool!

CSG, Napoleon (Track warrior I think now?), RCE, myself, etc aren't running hugh power either. While I don't think a boosted car would even justify rotors this large, it's a point worth noting.
