I'll have to ask. How would I be able to tell if it was backwards? Is this what happened to you? Is it what was causing you to not see any improvement in IATs?

Took a look at the PPE setup today. Header and overpipe come as a set with thermal coating at a really good price. Thinking this may be a good option, but I'm wondering if it would be worth it to pay for upgraded materials instead of the mild steel stuff.

Quick question---any luck with heat shielding on the bottom of the Sprintex manifold? Other aluminum manifold subies like it.

^This, I would be interested in as well.
Another thing I thought of when inspecting the manifold was a composite spacer to limit the heat transfer from the block. Although I don't think there is room under the stock hood, it could have been designed into the manifold. So anyone willing to machine a composite spacer set and cut a hole in the hood? |

Heat travels through aluminum at a crazy speed. And the worst kind of heat transfer is conduction. The manifold is bolted, with a large amount of surface area, directly to the heads. I don't care how much of a heat shield or blanket you use. It isn't going to help. Phenolic spacers might be a better option but without an intercooler you are still generating high temperatures from just compressing the air. The intercooler even looks like it might cool that cast insert which might even help cool the manifold. Long story short. Get the intercooler and make some good phenolic spacers. The charger already gives a "love bite" to the hood so I am not sure there is even room for a spacer.

With a 75mm pulley, how much clearance is there to the hood? A 70mm pulley will cut that by 2.5mm. Not a lot. How about the mythical 69mm pulley?
