It's embarrassing to be on a forum about an awesome chassis and people are arguing about whose wheels are better. I hope nobody in here with their $3000 wheels sees me shopping at Marshall's or Sears. Wouldn't want my head rolled for being 'ghetto'.

a couple pounds from a wheel might make a subjective difference any difference objectively will be smaller than the margin of error. at least thats all ive ever seen. in fact, the only test ive ever seen showed the heavier rim being faster on the same day, same tire, same size, same offset, same professional driver. |

Hey Diss7
go search a thread about how much better rays/volks are better then rotas. GTFOwe are here because of OPs Brakes, and they look hella good. Any specs on these yet? Baer usually makes domestic no? PS: I run XXRs because they are cheap and its awesome for daily, dont care if they get dinged from stupid road work or rock chips. Are u telling me if i run a subpar brand like RPF01 vs ur AMAZING Works that ill die? fat chance buddy Not everyone tracks their cars. dont push ur "assumptions" on everyone here. EDIT: http://www.baer.com/shop/ymm/2013/sc...20-21254460955 |

The funny part, is that your exact same reason is used on the other end too. Guys that track on replica wheels justify it by saying they don't want to risk damage on the track, so they track on replica wheels and DD on their real wheels... |

i like my rpf1, light, strong, not terribly ugly, got set for 600 on cl with tires that had some life
common enough that if i scrap one a replacement is no worse than a tire rack order away. |

On a side note, we offer a pretty deep discount for replacement wheels for guys that manage to damage a wheel so badly that they can't repair it... |

This argument carries over to brakes too, which is why CSG selected an AP Racing setup for our car. I'm a firm believer of established/proven quality. I'm not familiar with Baer systems at all, so I can't really say. |

WOW! First off, way to bring an old thread back to life and then completely belittle it to death over something completely off topic from the original intent of showing others there are more options out there for brakes. Honestly, your ranting about wheels is annoying. Take it to a thread of your own if you want to preach about wheel selection. I agree there are good wheels and there are bad wheels BUT as someone else mentioned this happens to be only one set of MANY wheels I own. These ones look great on the car and truthfully have been punished more than any typical person would put them through without any failure of any kind to the wheels themselves. When I initially seasoned the rotors I forgot to take the center caps off and had these wheels on for that process. I ended up tossing em off the wheels while running through heat cycles into the weeds on the side of the road. Even the best of the wheels in the world will toss center caps through a heat cycling. Hence the reason most tracks require you remove your center caps to avoid stuff on the track. Blabbing on and on about Americans and their spending was hilarious to me because here you are knocking on my car and its wheels when clearly I have had NO problem spending money on it and coincidentally I pay CASH for everything!! INCLUDING THE CAR!!!! So don't come at me in my thread about cheaping out on anything or how Americans do business. Me personally, I don't get scared when I see a failure of a product on the interwebs because I don't live in world of hysteria based on internet tales. More times than not there is more to the story and as long as I have been in this business that is what usually surfaces rather than certain products being deemed garbage by a few snobs who have NEVER proven a failure themselves. Does this mean I don't know when to use certain products over others? Absolutely not but I also know that cruising around on $4k+ true racing wheels on a daily basis is not something I need, nor want to do. When I go to the track other wheels and tires are put on but even then I have tracked these and what do you know I am still alive....... Now back to our regularly scheduled program... Quote:

I wish the pictures did the color justice because they just don't. The new processes Baer is using for some of their more unique custom colors is amazing looking in person and especially in the sun. These are no different and again the pictures look good but in person they are something that really pops. I wish I were a photographer because I imagine I could capture what they really look like if I were. Their new Copper color is equally amazing. They have a purple color that is just outrageous but you would need a car that can pull the purple off. Sorry if I missed anyone.......

Rotor Width = 14"x1.150" (Front), 13"x0.810" (Rear)
Pad Area = Fronts are 7.23"x2.48" C5 corvette pads so you can get them in basically ANY friction material you can imagine. Rears are standard 4-piston pads but I am still searching for the surface area specs. I should have them by tomorrow. UPDATE rear pads are 3.96"x2.58" and once again VERY common pads that can be purchased in any number of friction compounds. FMSI reference numbers are as follows for pads if you want to look at the endless options out there for them: Front = D0731 Rear = DR1 (formerly D1232) Calipers = Fronts are 6-piston forged 2-piece aluminum calipers. (D.O.T. approved w/ dust seals which are great for those daily driving their cars). Rears are 4-piston forged 2-piece aluminum calipers. (Again D.O.T. approved w/ dust seals). Both calipers use stainless pistons. All the fluid is internal to the calipers. There are no external lines. There is more to these calipers (All pros) but they are one of my favorite offerings Baer has made other than the 6S series. Weight = I weighed my system and the Baers were just under 1 lb. lighter than stock. This was brake lines and everything so the systems TOTAL weight vs stock systems TOTAL weight. Hope this helps
