Baer BBK Installed

I got a moment this past Saturday to toss on my Baer BBK front/rear so I figured I would toss up some pics since we all know everyone loves pics. This is my second personal set of Baers I have and I have installed countless others on various SEMA cars over the years so nothing was really of any surprise to me and the performance thus far is right where I would expect it to be. However, there was one thing in particular that did raise an eyebrow for me in a good way and that was with respect to weight. The Baers were within an astounding 1/2 lb. total weight compared to stock 112ish lbs. On top of that the lighter of the 2 was shockingly the Baers! Mind you these are 14" front rotors and 13" rear rotors. I have not concluded stopping distance tests or anything along those lines so there is no technical data to share at this point. I am still working through heat cycling the rotors. I don't really drive this car a lot so it may be a little while before I am able to setup some 60-0 tests etc.

I did ask members about a week ago for input on some caliper color choices I had in mind and I thank those who participated. I did end up going with a variation of a custom red I was considering so I apologize for those who expressed discouragement from red. I am also very happy with the way they turned out, even more than I thought I would. The pictures really don't do justice. Mostly because I am no photographer and because these were all taken with my phone . Without further ado enjoy....

Those things are massive. What's the rear disk diameter? Is it iron lined two piece for the ebrake or clamping on the aluminum hat?

Thanks everyone for the kind words. The brakes without a doubt catch peoples attention on this car. I didn't even make it a 1/2 mile down the road to grab an energy drink directly after I installed em before someone already made a comment at the convenience store about em.

Thank you The new colors they are playing with made this one of the hardest brake decisions I have made in a long time. There are so many cool colors they have been doing lately. Seeing them all in person was tough. I wanted em all

The rear diameter is 13" and the entire center of the rear is aluminum so the drum-in-hat e-brake is in fact shoe friction material on aluminum. That particular portion is quite thick though so even if you were wanting to induce oversteer to drift or what not via e-brake I do not foresee failure. This is not to say that constant abuse in this manner may not result in some type of failure. Good news is the individual bits are uber easy to replace should you need to.

I probably wouldn't be doing e-brake turns with aluminum on the friction material, it'd get chewed up real fast. But, for the 99% of the time where the ebrake is just there to keep things from moving on a hill or whatever I don't see an issue.

UPDATE: I received a prompt response from Baer about custom colors and price is $200 per axel. Contact with color code in pdf below to see if its compatible w/ brakes.
