Just to make sure.

Even with aftermarket headers, if we're using a catted header it's still best to stick with stage 1 correct? I plan to pick up the FA20 Headers, but I'm not sure what would be best either catted or non-catted. I'm just worried what would happen when smog time comes around what's going to happen.

smog time in California you are not ok with aftermarket headers, even if they have a cat. So you will have to remove them anyway. That said, buy the catless.

Im sure this has been discussed before...so what this means is that the dip is caused by hardware instead of software? I'm just curious because if it's "by design" then why did the engineers choose to leave it there because surely they could have done something about it during development/testing? Is there even another new NA car on the market today that has a torque dip as bad as this?

There is some discussion about snorkle mods in the OpenFlash Tablet Tuning Tech thread but it's possibly something similar to this. We'll find out for sure tomorrow.

I'm stock except for OFT stage 2, Borla uel headers, modified snorkle and a Cosworth drop in filter. Driving around today the car ran and sounded AMAZING! I noticed the biggest difference on the highway when I stepped on the gas in 6th to pass and the car pulled strong. No more downshifting with the extra torque in the critical cruising rpm range. Thanks Shiv!

By a "little work" I mean a drop in filter and a modified air snorkel.
By modified, I mean shortened and widened for improved airflow.
I'll post a thread about this tomorrow (with DIY info/pics).
Thanks to those who brought this to my attention.

On another note, or suggestion.
Shiv you ought to make a new thread with a clean simple layout.
Specifically (a how to) for not so technical features.
Just keep updating the first couple post in it so its all in one place.

If I heard one more...
...How do I turn on/use Launch control , Flat foot, (insert something already explained a lot!)
Its be gone over 20+ times in two threads!
/rant

I know your being nice, and I respect that.
Not trying to be harsh, I'm sure I'll have my share of questions aswell.

On yet another note.
I applaud you for this Tuning system.
I'm watching closely.
Again, to you and your peoples,

Could have used this .... yesterday. Got that customer into ECUTEK instead.

Bob I know you make money with your tunes. On the phantom esc tunes are you encrypting them or Allowing them to be open?

Dear shiv@vishnu,

I am familiar with the MAF limit table, but not sure if the MAP equivalent has been discovered yet on the rainbow. If it's voltage based then it's most likely not an issue yet as I'm using a 2.5 bar sensor.

Yours faithfully,

@$300 - $450 for a pro dyno tune that we spend an average of 3-5 hours on? I think you have us mistaken for someone else. All tunes in ECUTEK are encrypted by default... Why? Should I make it open and free to the world?

@shiv@vishnu
Can you at least share some data-logs? I am most interested in knock that plagues the OEM tune (tip in knock, 3k-3.2k knock) stock vs v1.31 ?

Correct me if I am wrong but your philosophy has been fix the emission hand-caps and oversights from the OEM tune. Make it a reliable better running engine first and foremost over pushing the limit for hp. It reminds me of race teams who develop their own track tunes that don't really add a ton of power but they make the engine hold up long term ?

Also curious if your tunes help with the oiltemps, I remember when the Mustang guys found a tune that reduced oil temps and it was a breakthrough for them.
