Openflash Tablet v1.31 beta maps (including Stage 2!) now available for download
Hi guys,
Happy to announce the public release of our newest OTS maps (v1.31b). The 'b" is for beta but there really shouldn't be anything beta about them. They will retain that designation for another couple of weeks until I confirm that there are no ROM id compatibility errors (always possible when releasing 24 new ROMs at one time!) They can be downloaded, for free, HERE Please read the Release Notes that is included in the download folder. It documents the changes in each map release. As well as providing detailed info about the maps themselves. But long story short, here is the gist of it: - New v1.31 maps (as compared to previous v1.2 maps) are even more knock resistant in the typically troublesome 3000-3200rpm range due to remapped ignition advance/knock correction map. A very worth while update even if you are perfectly happy with the v1.2 maps. Other than that change, performance will be identical. - Formerly missing maps for ZAJA00D ROM type is now included. I was luck enough to snag this elusive 6AT ROM from a new OFT customer at the last NorCal meet! - Updated XDFs. They now have parameters for MAP and MAF DTC limits. Adjusting (raising) these values are necessary for turbo/sc applications as I learned last week when doing some mapping work on a Vortech supercharged car. Some other XDF updates as well. - Removed AirRaid intake maps since 1) few people use this particular intake and 2) the stock airbox, with a little work, performs better and provides more stable MAF readings. By a "little work" I mean a drop in filter and a modified air snorkel. By modified, I mean shortened and widened for improved airflow. I'll post a thread about this tomorrow (with DIY info/pics). Thanks to those who brought this to my attention. - And of course, our new Stage 2 maps. I'm like a proud father because I think they are really good. As the release notes say, they are only intended for cars equipped with catless headers. If you don't have catless headers, this map will be too aggressive for you car. So please don't bother running it even if you have every other mod available. Compared to our Stage 1 map, the Stage 2 map has leaner AFR, runs more ignition advance, revised VVT maps, new MAF scaling, and other go-fast mapping changes. You can see all the changes yourself by using the Difference Tool in the free-to-use Tuner Pro software (also downloadable from our website). I really hope you enjoy this map because I've been having a great time with it! As with all of our other maps, it is intended only for use with premium fuel (91-93oct). Running on lower grade fuel will definitely castrate performance. Below are some dyno results comparing Stg2, Stg1 and the stock tune on the same car, same day, same dyno, same fuel, just minutes apart. They car is a 6MT FR-S equipped with only an EL catless header, running on 91oct. Stock airbox, overpipe, exhaust, etc,. This is a Mustang Dyno. It's a low reading heart-breaker of a dyno and has not be calibrated to read high like a Dynojet. For reference, the test car put down 152whp when it was completely stock. So its best to look on at a relative differences, not absolute numbers :) OFT Stage 2 tune vs Stock tune on same car (headers only) http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k4...tg2OTStune.jpg OFT Stage 2 tune vs OFT Stage 1 tune on same car (headers only) http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k4...tg2OTStune.jpg So if anyone has any issues with loading the maps into their OFT (ie, ROM compatibility or such), please let me know and I'll fix it right away. Same goes for any unlikely check engine lights. If you do get any CELs, jut read the code with the ECU fault code reading function in the OpenFlash Tablet. It's unlikely but hey, anything is possible :) Also, we are working on international ROM support. So over the next few days, I should have support for some of you folks overseas. Thank you for sending me your stock ROM and for your patience! And lastly, despite ramping up OpenFlash Tablet production we are running low on stock. So if you would like one, best to order (see link in sig) sooner than later. Once we are out of stock, we won't more for another ~2 weeks. Cheers, shiv |

Looks good, I always prefer *real* mustang dyno numbers to the inflated numbers dynojet spits out.
Cant wait for logging capability :) |
stage 2 yesssssssssssss!!!!!!! you said before it is tuned for full exhaust right?

@shiv@vishnu - Which xdf file is for manual and which is for auto? Up until your 1.2 release notes, you seem to be using ZA1J__C for manual and ZA1J__D for auto. But in your 1.3 release note, it is now referencing ZA1J__C for the auto? Is that a typo?

Dear shiv@vishnu,
Could you please tell us more about the MAP limit tables. What problems did you encounter when calibrating the Vortech-equipped vehicle? Yours faithfully, Unicorn |
Thanks for this! I love how you explain each map and what's been updated
In the process of modifying my own snorkel, look forward to seeing how yours is done ;) |
Awesome! This is the reason I got the OFT this weekend, so I can finally have a tune with my header! Almost got the Stage 2 beta map this weekend from Shiv, was a little bummed when I only got Stage 1, but now that this is released it doesn't matter. Looking forward to flashing it after work today and noticing any differences on the way home. :happyanim:
