That said, if you are expecting to spend a lot of time at the track, you may want to spend some money on additional cooling (radiator, oil cooler, etc). Probably worth the peace of mind.
Have they made an ECU update to everyone or only people experiencing the issues? I've to the same sound this guy has... http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44851

No, only the cars rolling out of the factory after January 2013 have the updated tune, dealerships don't have the procedure in place to flash older cars with the newer flash. December production is still up in the air but definitely not November cars.

Going on 12k miles and my only issue is crickets. I don't see a problem with the engine. I had a slight idle issue breaking in, but that is completely gone. Running great and I am also Ecutek tuned now.

Everything is fine. I have none of the problems posted all over this forum, other than the fuel-pump chirp and that does not bother me at all.

You'll find more info in the tracking/motosports section. But I wouldn't worry much if your car is used for street only.

Going to hit 20k next week. I've had it since Jan.

No issues, Crickets are here and there (who cares). Not a darn thing wrong. I've given up worrying about little things and enjoy the car. So much better this way.

Apparently those were also due to bad tunes and was fixed in 09 models. Dont think there were many, if any that failed at stock power. I know of a few that had ring failure over stock power though

THe ringland issue on Subaru's wasn't limited to the 07+ model but goes back to the 02+ EJ20 motor as well. The motors have a cast piston but can be fixed (or at least less of a worry) with a set of forged pistons.

Like others have already mentioned, why worry when the vehicle has a new car warranty? If you've already exceeded the warranty mileage and your're still concerned then trade it in on a new one or start budgeting for another motor. Every car is going to have their issues. I personally wouldn't loose sleep over it.

I'm surprised you haven't seen it. It's been discussed in many threads in the track subforum. I don't believe there's a sticky thread.

@iLuveKetchup, what's wrong with your track S2k and STI DD? Seems like the perfect combination.

My motor was blown after 2,000miles. No racing, only street driving. They replaced the motor under warranty and it has been a nightmare ever since. Car has been in for service 13x in 6 months...I kept losing about 30% of power, so they checked the cylinders and said #2 is off, but within parameters....lol. So basically saying cylinder #2 is crap but just deal with it.

Like a doctor after a heart transplant, "Sir, your heart exploded, so we have replaced your heart with one that has 1 clogged artery...but don't worry...you'll be fine."

Nothing wrong with it. I go through these phases with cars. Although I have a hard time letting go of the s2k. You should keep your BRZ!!
