will the MY14 be cheaper?

So just wanna know since its only few months away, and most know that usdjpy exchange now hit ~103 (awesome)

Do you guys have any info if the 2014 batches will be cheaper?

Edit: btw I wanted a brz before, but gonna end up with a gt86 as its by far cheaper (see my old thread) but if there is a price reduction then I guess its my only chance to get a brz

MY14 i doubt will be cheaper. I remember reading that 6.1 inch touch screen will be standard which means a price hike. I also heard backup cameras are required for MY2014 cars (could be wrong).

I don't think any future MYs have been cheaper on any car actually.

Why would they make it cheaper? Can that question be answered? I don't think so.

Keep dreaming.. Prices usually go up each year.. That and more goodies on the car, supply and demand, etc..

I would expect the price to go up, not down, just like it already did for the FR-S a few months ago.

No car has ever gotten cheaper as time went on.

Sorry, but they don't do that.

The difference is that this is a new car. Not only has the IS250/350 been out for a while, but the IS line has been out for a long enough time.

Well as you guys say no newer car been cheaper cuz the usdjpy exchange is getting more expensive in the last 20 years (if you go back in history this this why most 90s legends got so expensive to a point no one is buying them!)

i e; if a car cost 4,000,000 yen (say a 2012 model and usdjpy exhange is ~80 just like few months back) then cost in $ would be $50k
Now usdjpy exchange ~103 so if that car above is now say 4,100,000 just cuz its 2013 then it would be $39.8k

See what I mean.... it never happened before cuz the jpy is getting more expensive in the last 20 years, but now its for first time getting this cheap so any Japanese products will be cheaper for US

Mustang did.

I only discovered this recently when shopping for the FR-S. They dropped by $110 from the '12 to '13 model and no change for the '14. I'm willing to bet there have been other examples after seeing this.

www.edmunds.com/ford/mustang/years.html?sub=coupe

However, I am confident the twins will be like nearly every other manufacturer and raise the price, especially if it has additional equipment(mandatory or not).

Lastly, the current exchange rate will have no effect on pricing because the car was built using materials valued at the older lower valued dollar/yen. That won't have an effect until new material purchasing contracts are made using the newer values...that could be 10 years for all we know. You can bet your ass inflation will be immediately applied though.
